The head of the Russian government, Dmitry Medvedev, announced that the Russian ministers proposed to raise the age of retirement in Russia up to 65 for men and up to 63 for women. According to Medvedev, the reform will be implemented in steps that will start from 2019, RIA NEWS reports. «It is proposed to introduce a sufficiently long transition period that will start in 2019. The retirement age will reach, step-by-step, 65 for men by 2028 and 63 for women by 2034″ Medvedev explained and added that this would allow to »direct the additional funds to increase the pensions above the level of inflation.» In addition, the government intends to raise the value-added tax rate up to 20%.

In the DPR, over the past day, Ukrainian troops violated the ceasefire 7 times, firing 160 shells at the front-line regions of the Republic. Donetsk and its suburbs, Dokuchaevsk, southern villages of Kominternovo and Novolaspa were hit.
