The European Union has decided to extend the duration of sanctions against the Syrian authorities for a year, the press service of the EU Council announced after the meeting of the foreign ministers in Brussels. «The Council extended restrictive measures against the Syrian regime until 1st of June, 2019. Given the on-going repression of the civilian population, the EU has decided to maintain the restrictive measures against the Syrian regime and its supporters in accordance with the EU strategy for Syria» — the conclusion report of the Council on Foreign Affairs of the EU explains.

Russian Ministry of Defense underlined that the data obtained after the tests enabled the modernization of 11 types of aircraft and helicopters.

In the DPR, during the past day, Ukrainian troops violated the ceasefire regime 16 times, firing 236 shells at the front-line territories of the DPR. The town of Gorlovka, the villages Spartak, Zaitsevo, Ozerianovka and Shirokaya Balka, as well as Dokuchaevsk and villages in the south of the DPR were hit. Mortars, grenade launchers, weaponry of IFV and APC, as well as small arms, were used in the shelling.
