Moscow won’t impose retaliatory measures || Breaking news, 2nd of December, 2018

US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, during the G20 summit in Buenos Aires, agreed that starting from 1st of January of 2019, the United States won’t impose additional duties on the Chinese goods imported into the country. The increase in tariffs from 10% to 25% will be delayed for 90 days. China, in order to reduce the trade imbalance, agreed to “buy agricultural goods, energy, industrial and other products from the United States for a fairly significant amount of money”.

Vladimir Putin announced that Russia won’t impose any retaliatory restrictions on the entry of the Ukrainian citizens. Russia will go «on the path of liberalization of their stay, and obtaining of the Russian citizenship by them». Vladimir Putin called the martial law in Ukraine «A gross blunder of the Ukrainian leadership.» According to him, the Ukrainian authorities want to «restrict the civil rights and freedoms, to limit political activity in the country» and «cover up their failures in the economic and social policies.» On 30th of November, Ukraine has banned the Russian men, aged 16 to 60 years old, from entering the country.

Former German Foreign Minister Sigmar Gabriel said that the Ukrainian authorities are trying to pull Germany into a war after the incident in the Kerch Strait. “I think we shouldn’t allow Ukraine to pull us into a war. Ukraine did try to do this» — the former minister said during an interview to N-TV. Also, Sigmar Gabriel criticized the demands of Kiev to send warships to the Black Sea, and to close the international seaports for the Russian ships coming from the Sea of Azov. According to him, German Chancellor Angela Merkel is doing the right thing when she’s trying to «move the parties back to normal relations,» although it won’t be easy.

The commander of the 5th fleet of the US Navy Central Command, Vice Admiral Scott Stirney, was found dead in his own residence in Bahrain. The US Navy Criminal Investigation Service and the Bahrain Ministry of the Internal Affairs are conducting a joint investigation. The military claimed that there are no traces of violent death of the vice admiral. After the death of Scott Stirney — Vice-Admiral James Mallow will take the command of the fleet. Scott Stirney was responsible for US naval operations in the Middle East and Southwest Asia.

An explosion, presumably from a hand grenade, took place near the building of the US Consulate in the Mexican city of Guadalajara late on Saturday. There were no victims. The work of the consulate is temporarily suspended. The explosion slightly damaged the garden fence outside of the building. The explosion occurred a day before the Sunday inauguration of the new President of Mexico, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador.

Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Chaputovich announced the introduction of the new EU sanctions against the organizers of the elections in the DPR and the LPR in the near future, TASS reports. He announced it in Kiev, at a joint press conference with his Ukrainian counterpart Pavel Klimkin. “Poland has recently initiated a discussion in the EU regarding the illegal elections in the Donbass. We are now working on the sanctions against the individuals that organized the illegal elections. In the near future, the EU will call them out” — he said.
