These steps should speed up and ease the negotiation process, the newspaper explains.

NATO announced the threat to their communication channels coming from the Russian electronic warfare hardware. But there is still a need to stay in touch with the parties of the conflict. “Firstly, we will extend the anti-Russian sanctions that exist at the moment due to the illegal annexation of Crimea. Aside from that, we must maintain close contact with both parties. We are doing this in the framework of the so-called Norman format, along with our French friends. It is necessary, when possible, to de-escalate the situation. And we will continue to do so» — RIA NEWS quotes Heiko Maas.

the EU Council announced that the EU imposed sanctions against 9 people for organizing elections in the Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics on 11th of November. «The EU Council approved the introduction of the restrictive measures against 9 individuals for the organization of the illegal elections in the Lugansk and Donetsk regions» — the document says, TASS reports. The sanctions will come into force after their publication in the Official Journal of the EU.
