She was forced to make such announcement by her party members, including the members of the cabinet. They were dissatisfied with the renewed Brexit agreement with the EU, presented by Theresa May. The process of election of a new leader will officially begin after 7th of June. The main candidate at the moment is the former foreign minister Boris Johnson. He has already announced his plans to nominate himself. Such possibility is being also considered by the former leader of the House of Commons, Andrea Leeds. Among other potential candidates are also the Foreign Minister Jeremy Hunt, and the Interior Minister Sajid Javid.
