1 Syria

The Russian Embassy in Syria has confirmed the delivery of a batch of MiG-29 fighters to Syria. «The Syrian forces received a second batch of MiG-29 fighters from Russia as a part of the military and technical cooperation between our countries. The Syrians have already started carrying out their missions on those airplanes» — the embassy reported on Twitter. Earlier on 30th of May the »SANA» news agency reported about the shipment while citing their military sources. The »SANA» specified that the transfer process took place at the Khmeimim airbase, after which the aircraft were sent to various airfields.

2 Syria

The Russian Center for the Reconciliation of the warring parties in Syria announced that the Russian and the Turkish forces conducted the 15th joint patrol on the M4 highway, in the province of Idlib. The patrol route was increased up to the city of Basankul. «The joint Russian-Turkish patrol reached the city of Basankul in Idlib province. The route was about 30 km long» — the Center reported. Russia sent two ‘BTR-82A’ IFVs and a single ‘Tiger’ armored car to the joint patrol. The movement of the convoy was controlled by the Russian Air Force UAVs. The diplomatic crisis in the region is preventing the USA from applying a full sanction pressure on Iran. About 30,000 US National Guard servicemen currently assist the police in 31 states, and in the District of Columbia. Curfews have been imposed in about 40 cities, including Washington and New York.

Donald Trump stated during an interview to the ‘Fox news’ that the Russian participation in the G7 summit, which will be held in the US in 2020, would facilitate the solution of many problems. He underlined that “half of the meetings are being devoted to Russia”, and if the Russian president Vladimir Putin would be present at the summit — “it would be much easier to find solutions”. The ‘Reuters’ reported that the French authorities do not see the need for the return to the G8 format with Russia. Earlier the French Foreign Ministry stated that the decision on the Russian participation in the G7 summit should be taken jointly by all G7 participants. The chairman of the Russian parliament’s committee on the international affairs, Leonid Slutsky, told to the ‘TASS’ news agency that Russia can participate in the discussion of the international issues only on full terms.
