The »Al-Sumaria» TV channel reported about a demonstration in the Iraqi capital, aimed against the US presence. According to the ‘Al-Sumaria’ — a big demonstration began on Friday morning, in the Al-Jadriah area, in central Baghdad. The demonstrators carried Iraqi flags and shouted patriotic slogans. The ‘Al-Sumaria’ reports that earlier an influential Shia politician and religious leader, Muktada al-Sadr, who is one of the leaders of the ‘Sairun’ political bloc in the Iraqi parliament, called on people to go on a peaceful demonstration and demand an end to the presence of the US forces in the country.
