A new military operation in Syria

The «Sham FM» radio station reported that the Syrian army has launched a new military operation in the south-east of the Idlib province. During the operation, the village of Umm-Jalal was liberated from the terrorists. On Tuesday, the ‘Al-Watan’ newspaper reported that the Syrian army called for reinforcements into Idlib — the army was preparing a large-scale operation. ‘Al-Watan’ reported, while citing their source, that the government forces could also launch operations in the nearby provinces of Aleppo, Hama and Latakia. Those provinces are still being held by the Jebhat al-Nusra terrorists.

2 Libya

The ‘Al Arabiya’ TV channel reports, with a reference to a statement made by an official representative of the Libyan National Army, Ahmed al-Mismari, that the Libyan national army of Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar demanded the armed forces loyal to the Government of National Consent, headed by Faiz Saraj, which was also recognized by the UN, to leave the cities of Tripoli and Sirte within 72 hours. During this time, the Libyan National Army will not attack the forces retreating from Tripoli and Sirte. If the conditions of the ultimatum won’t be met — the attacks by the Libyan National Army will resume.

The German newspaper ‘Bild’ reported that the German Chancellor Angela Merkel made a direct response to the decision of the US Congress to impose sanctions against the ‘Nord Stream 2’ gas pipeline. As the ‘Bild’ reported — it was «a clear declaration of war» against Donald Trump. On Wednesday, the German Chancellor announced that Berlin is against the US extra-territorial sanctions. Berlin intends to «decisively discuss» the issue of Washington’s measures against the ‘Nord Stream 2’
