1 The USA

The head of the Libyan Government of National Accord, Faiz Sarraj, stated during a speech at the general political debate of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly that the parties of the Lybian conflict won’t be able to achieve a long and lasting ceasefire without the withdrawal of the foreign mercenaries from Libya. He explained that the government of the national accord remains committed to the peaceful solutions of the conflict, and it sees the constructive dialogue as the only way out of the current crisis. Faiz Sarraj noted that the government of national accord expects a cooperation from the government in the east of the country. «However, so far we see no cooperation. We only see the violations by the armed groups that operate under the leadership of the aggressor» — Faiz Sarraj concluded.

2 Iran

2 pilots were injured during a crash of a training plane in north of Iran — the ‘Tasnim’ news agency reported on Friday. The incident took place near the city of Nazarabad, in the province of Alborz. The training plane had only one engine. Both pilots were taken to a hospital. The reasons of the incident are being investigated.

3 The USA

The website of the Democratic Senator Chris Koons reported that a bipartisan group of the US senators proposed to impose sanctions against the Russian officials due to the situation with Alexei Navalny. The bill suggests to «impose sanctions against Russian officials» since they may be related to certain cases of the «violations of the international law.» Among those cases the senators mentioned the «recent poisoning of Navalny». The names and positions of persons, against whom the sanctions may be imposed, have not yet been specified. Among the possible sanctions were named assets freeze and the refusal to issue visas. The senators asked the US administration for a report on the financial affairs of the Russian President Vladimir Putin and his «inner circle», including the members of his family. The senators expect Washington to decide if the sanctions against Russia could be imposed on the pretext of the violation of laws on the control over chemical and biological weapons.

The Yemeni President, Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi, announced while speaking at the general political debate of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly that the world community should put pressure on the Yemeni rebel movement «Ansar Allah», and on their allies in Iran. According to him — «Ansar Allah met the efforts of the UN with intransigence, and with the mass murder of civilians». The President of Yemen asked the UN to support the governmental economic program, aimed to achieve a stability for the citizens of the republic. «The war, imposed on our people, has caused a humanitarian disaster, and a split of the Yemeni society» — he concluded.

5 Russia — Iran

During a meeting on Thursday, the Iranian Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, and the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, discussed the issue of the «Joint Comprehensive Action Plan» on the Iranian nuclear program. «We noted the very important role of Russia in the preservation of the plan» — the Iranian Foreign Minister stated and mentioned the «Illegal Efforts of the USA». He explained that «Washington is abusing the UN Security Council mechanisms». Javad Zarif spoke about the important role of Russia and China in the UN Security Council. The Russian Foreign Minister, Sergei Lavrov, stated after the talks that Russia and Iran have confirmed their readiness to continue the close cooperation in Syria, in the ‘Astana format’. Sergey Lavrov underlined the common position of Moscow and Tehran that any attempts of other countries to stay in Syria, without the consent of the Syrian government, and their promotion of separatist sentiments in there, are absolutely unacceptable.

6 The USA — Japan

The NHK TV reported that during the talks with the US National Security Assistant, Robert O’Brien, the secretary general of the Japanese National Security Council, Shigeru Kitamura, announced the plans to enhance the missile defenses, after the refusal to deploy the ‘Aegis Ashore’ ground systems. The negotiations took place in Washington. The parties underlined the importance of the strategic alliance between the USA and Japan. They agreed to work together to advance the concept of free and open Indo-Pacific region. Earlier, the Japanese Defense Minister, Nobuo Kishi, stated during a meeting with the leadership of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party that Tokyo is leaning towards the «naval option» of the missile defense systems.
