A strike on the Syrian Abu Kemal

1 Iraq — Syria

A strike drone attacked a base of Shiia fighters on the Iraqi-Syrian border. On the night of 12th of October an unknown strike UAV attacked a Shiia militia base near the city of Abu Kemal, in the province of Deir Ez-Zor, on the border of Syria and Iraq. 3 militia fighters were killed. 15 were injured. The TASS news agency reported with a reference to the Al Arabiya news agency that it is unknown who sent the UAV. Most likely Israel is behind the attack on the Shiia fighters, allied to Iran. Israel often attacks them in Syria. Since 4th of September, 2021, at least 4 attacks by such unknown drones took place in the province of Deir Ez-Zor.

2 Donbass

’’The Ukrainian army shelled the DPR one time» — the DPR office in the Joint Center for the Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire reported. “The village of Kominternovo in the south of the DPR was under fire. The Ukrainians fired six grenades from a grenade launcher. As a result of the attack a house caught fire in the village. There is no information about the victims. The DPR representatives in the Joint Center tried to use a coordination mechanism to quickly establish a ceasefire given the ceasefire violation. They were ignored by the Ukrainian representatives in the Joint Center” — the DPR office stated. The Ukrainian troops violated the ceasefire one time over the past day in the area of responsibility of the LPR. «The town of Frunze was shelled. An anti-tank grenade launcher SPG-9 was used in the shelling» — the defense department of the LPR reported.

3 Tajikistan

The Deputy Commander of the Central Russian Military District for the Logistics, Lieutenant-General Alexei Lemyakin, stated that the Syrian combat experience will form the basis for the actions of the Russian servicemen in the special training «Echelon-2021″, carried out with the forces and units of logistical support of the Collective Security Treaty Organization. The training is planned to be held in Tajikistan, in October — the TASS reported. “During the training we will practice a wide range of objectives of material and technical support of the Collective Rapid Reaction Forces of the CSTO. We will take into account the experience of the modern conflicts, including in Syria and Nagorno-Karabakh» — Lemyakin concluded. More than 500 servicemen from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia and Tajikistan will be involved in the training.

4 The CIS countries

«Vladimir Putin will hold a video conference with the heads of the special services of the CIS countries» — the Kremlin press service reported. «The President of Russia will hold a videoconference with the heads of the intelligence services from the CIS countries. They will arrive in Moscow to participate in the 17th meeting of the heads of the security and intelligence services of the CIS» — the message stated. The meeting will be attended by Sergei Naryshkin, the Director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, and the heads of delegations from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan — the RIA news reported.

5 Kyrgyzstan — Tajikistan

«Russian Su-25 attack aircraft were sent from Kyrgyzstan to Tajikistan for the CSTO exercises» — The Central Russian Military District’s press service reported. The Su-25s took off from their permanent base, and landed at the Gissar airfield, near Dushanbe. «During the active phase of the joint training ’’Interaction-2021’’, the attack aircraft will perform the search and destruction of the training targets. They will also provide an air support to the motorized rifle and tank forces in the course of their training and combat missions in mountainous and desert terrain» — the Central Military District specified.

6 Afghanistan
