A «summer truce» has been reached in Donbass

The special envoy of the OSCE chairman, Martin Saidik, announced that the participants of the Donbas contact group have agreed on an indefinite truce, starting from 21st of July.

2 Kiev agreed to repair the bridge, destroyed by the Ukrainian troops near the village of Luganskaya, together with the LPR. Boris Gryzlov, the Russian representative in the Contact Group, announced after the meeting of the participants of the Group itself and the working subgroups. “It was also agreed upon that the bridge will be used only for the civilian purposes” — TASS quoted Boris Gryzlov.

3 On 17th of July, the Kuibyshevsky district of the city of Donetsk was shelled once again by the Ukrainian troops. A local woman died as the result. Two kindergartens and some residential buildings were damaged.

4 The Ukrainian troops accidentally destroyed their own positions while trying to use a new type of weapon platform — the official representative of the operational command of the Donetsk People’s Republic, Daniel Bezsonov, announced. According to him, during the last week, the Ukrainian troops from the 35th brigade fired twice from an UR-77 landmine clearing vehicle. They aimed at the residential areas of the town of Dokuchaevsk. Daniel Bezsonov explained that the Ukrainian troops launched the demining projectiles without the brake cable, which is needed for a proper landmine clearance.
