An aircraft was shot down in Libya

1 Libya

The Libyan Government of the National Accord attacked a cargo plane of the Libyan National Army, led by the Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, near Tripoli. This was announced by the official representative of the Government of National Accord of Libya, Colonel Mohammed Kanuno. It was noted that the cargo plane carried ammunition for the Libyan National Army. The ‘Al-Unvan’ news website reported that a Turkish-made drone was involved in the attack on the cargo plane that carried medicines and medical equipment needed to fight the new coronavirus. The consequences of the attack were not reported. The Libyan National Army did not comment the incident.

2 Serbia

The TASS news agency reported, while citing the administration of the Serbian city of Valevo, that the Russian military experts started disinfecting the city, which is the ground zero of the epidemic in the country. The Russian military specialists sanitized the »People’s Front» clinic in the city of Belgrade — the Deputy Director of the Branca Nikolic Hospital reported. Earlier, the Serbian authorities requested an assistance from Russia to fight the epidemic. On 3rd and 4th of April the Russian Air Force cargo planes promptly delivered to Serbia 87 Russian military doctors, virologists, specialists from the Russian troops of radiation, chemical and biological protection, special medical equipment, general protective equipment, and 16 units of military equipment.

3 Italy

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that the field hospital in Bergamo, in which the Russian and Italian doctors help patients with the new coronavirus infection, was additionally equipped with extra equipment. The testing and fine tuning of all installed equipment is underway. It was reported that the Russian specialists «will receive, diagnose, and treat the patients in 2 intensive care rooms of the field hospital» around the clock, in 3 shifts. The field hospital, in which over 200 Italian and Russian specialists work, is built to help up to 142 patients at once.

4 Russia

Dmitry Peskov, the spokesman of the Russian president, stated that the negotiations between the Russian President Vladimir Putin and the leadership of Saudi Arabia and the US President Donald Trump are not expected in the near future. He underlined that «currently, telephone contacts are negotiated very quickly, and if necessary — carried out instantly». Dmitry Peskov also confirmed that the OPEC+ teleconference was postponed to 9th of April due to technical reasons. The conference preparations are on-going. He added that Moscow is interested in working together with other countries in order to stabilize the global energy market.

5 Belgium

The official representative of the European Commission, Peter Stano, said during a video briefing in Brussels that the EU leadership does not see problems in maintaining the sanctions against Russia during the current coronavirus pandemic. According to Peter Stano, the sanctions «do not undermine the Russian ability to fight the coronavirus».

6 Russia

The TASS news agency reports, while citing their source in the Russian military, that on Monday, in the village of Alabino — near Moscow — the first joint training of the ground and air forces for the Victory Day parade on 9th of May, on the Red Square, was held. “75 aircraft were involved in the training” — the TASS source specified. It was noted that «all the medical measures were taken to the parade troops in order to prevent the coronavirus infection.» Earlier, an official spokesman for the Ministry of Defense, Major-General Igor Konashenkov, reported that the preparations for the Victory Parade in Moscow are going according to the plan.
