Gennady Kuzmin underlined the importance of the UN Secretary General’s call for a cessation of the hostilities in order to fight the pandemic. “But it won’t be enough without a reminder of his call to lift the sanctions that prevent the countries from containing the pandemic” — the ‘TASS’ quoted Gennady Kuzmin. He added that the lifting of the one-sided sanctions, including the ones for Syria, is necessary «to ensure the access to the medical care, as well as the affordable medicines, vaccines, personal protective equipment, and to the food».

6 Russia — the EU
“The Kremlin officially regrets that some EU countries have been prohibited by their allies from asking Russia to help to fight the coronavirus” — said Dmitry Peskov, the spokesman of the Russian president. «We know that in a number of European capitals, the ambassadors of some states insist that the leadership of these countries shouldn’t interact with Russia in the humanitarian aid matters» — Peskov explained. “Those ambassadors do not particularly resort to the standards of the diplomatic behavior. They demand the countries to refuse both the current and possible help. It can indeed cause a regret, especially due to the misunderstanding in this difficult period of life of the entire globe. This time requires us to carry out mutual assistance, and mutual trust «- the ‘TASS’ quoted Dmitry Peskov. Earlier the Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told to the Chinese newspaper ‘Global Times’ that some Western countries prohibit their own allies from calling Russia for help in fight against the coronavirus pandemic.
