An explosion on the Syrian-Israeli border

The Lebanese national news agency »NNA» reported that a strong explosion took place in the Golan Heights, near the Syrian-Israeli border. «Residents of some settlements in the Marjayoun district, in south of Lebanon, heard a big explosion. Smoke was seen in the occupied Golan Heights» — the report specified. It was reported that «the sounds of heavy artillery were heard as well». Sounds of firing machine and sub-machine guns were heard near the Israeli border positions, in the occupied Lebanese territory. The Golan Heights is the intersection of the borders of Israel, Syria and Lebanon. It is considered to be an area of a high tension.

The Iraqi TV channel ‘Al Sumaria’ reported while citing their sources in the security forces of Baghdad that on Tuesday night the «green zone» of Baghdad was hit with a rocket fire. It was reported that at least 2 rockets were fired at the district with buildings of government agencies, foreign diplomatic missions, and the US embassy. Air defense systems were used to repel the attack — they were installed in the ‘green zone’ several months ago in order to protect the US Embassy. It wasn’t reported where did the rockets hit. No information was given about any damage.

The Turkish Ministry of National Defense reported about an attack on one of their observation posts in the Syrian province of Idlib. «Groups of people, who looked like civilians, approached our observation posts number 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9, located in the Idlib DMZ. They attacked our observation post number 7, and fled after counter-measures were taken» — the Turkish Defense Ministry reported, and added that those groups were «coordinated by the regime of the Syrian President Bashar al-Assad».

The Syrian mass media reported about protests in several Syrian provinces against the Turkish military presence in Syria. The residents of the Idlib province gathered at the observation posts of the Turkish army with sings such as «Idlib is the Syrian land». They also chanted their slogans. Several dozen people took part in the protests. The rallies took place in the provinces of Hama and Aleppo. The Turkish military used tear gas grenades to disperse the demonstrators near the village of As-Surman. The demonstrators did not disperse, and even hung a portrait of the Syrian President, Bashar al-Assad, on the gates of one Turkish checkpoint.

The IDF reported on Twitter that in a response to the launch of 15 rockets at Israel — the IDF launched airstrikes on facilities of the radical Palestinian movement ‘Hamas’ in the Gaza Strip. «Our air force hit ‘Hamas’ facilities in the Gaza Strip — namely, a weapons and explosives factory and a military base» — the report specified. Earlier on Tuesday, during a ceremony in Washington, conducted to sign the agreements to normalize the relations between Israel, the UAE, and Bahrain — the Palestinian radicals fired 2 rockets at Israel. 1 of them was intercepted by the air defense systems.

The Afghan TV channel »1 TV» reported about clashes in the Nangarhar province which resulted in nearly 30 Taliban terrorists getting killed by the Afghan security forces. The ‘1TV’ quoted a statement from the representative of the provincial administration, Atatullah Hogyani. It was reported that on Thursday night, the terrorists attacked several security posts of the Afghan forces in the Khesarak and Sherzad areas. As a result of the return fire from the government forces — 29 terrorists were killed, at least 20 were injured. The attack also took lives of 20 Afghan servicemen. 15 servicemen were injured.
