An Intervention of the US Army in Idlib

1 Iraq — Syria

An American army convoy of 50 armored vehicles headed from Iraq to Syria, despite the statements of the Assistant to the US President on the National Security, Robert O’Brien, according to which — the US aren’t going to intervene in the situation in the Syrian province of Idlib — the «Sky News Arabia» TV reported on Sunday. 2 The NATO — Turkey

The NATO doesn’t intend to provide the military support to Ankara in case of a Turkish military operation in north of Syria. «The NATO countries will not support the activation of the 5th Article due to the losses of the Turkish military in Idlib in early February. The NATO doesn’t consider the possibility of providing a military assistance to Turkey in case of a military operation in this region» — the ‘TASS’ quoted a diplomatic source in a mission of one of the alliance countries in Brussels.

3 The USA — Turkey

During a telephone conversation between the US President Donald Trump and the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on 15th of February, Donald Trump underlined his concern about the situation in Idlib. He also criticized the Russian support for the Syrian government. This was announced by the Deputy White House Press Secretary, Judd Deere, on Sunday evening. Donald Trump also wished that Russia would stop supporting Bashar al-Assad, and instead would «insist for a political resolution of the conflict» — he added.

4 Russia — Syria

Dmitry Peskov, the spokesman for the Russian president, commented on the words of the US President Donald Trump, who, during a telephone conversation with the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, criticized the Russian support of the Syrian government. «The Russian armed forces and Russian advisers continue to support the Syrian armed forces in their fight against the terrorists. On Monday, the authorities also proposed a complete ban on the wildlife trade in China, which is considered to be a possible source of the spread of the coronavirus.
