An Israel Air Force airstrikes in Syria

1 Syria

The ’France-Presse’ reported while citing the ’Syrian Observatory of the Human Rights’ that at least 5 Syrian servicemen were killed during the recent Israeli air strikes against weapons depots and military positions in the eastern Syria. The air strikes were carried out on Wednesday night. Israel carried out more than 18 air-raids on several targets near the cities of Deir ez-Zor and Al-Bukamal, located near the Syrian-Iraqi border. It was reported that 11 terrorists were killed during those raids.

2 Russia — Nagorno-Karabakh

The Kremlin press service reported that the Russian President Vladimir Putin informed the Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan about the main results of his meeting with the Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and the Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. «It was underlined that one of the main results of the negotiations was the confirmation of the intention of Azerbaijan and Armenia to normalize the relations. As well as their readiness for the cooperation in order to ensure a peaceful life, and an unblocking of the economic and transport connections. It was possible to agree on a number of important steps due to the improved situation in the Nagorno-Karabakh region» — the report stated. Tayyip Erdogan expressed his support for the Russian efforts in the Nagorno-Karabakh settlement. He called for a further coordination of actions between Russia and Turkey.

The US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo stated during a speech at the National Press Club in Washington that Iran became a new base of operations for the ’Al-Qaeda’. According to him — «unlike Afghanistan, where the ’al-Qaeda’ had to hide in the mountains, today it operates in Iran under the firm cover of the Iranian regime». Michael Pompeo didn’t provide any solid evidence for his statement.

The US House of Representatives backed a resolution that called on the US Vice-President Michael Pence to remove Donald Trump from power by using the 25th Amendment to the Constitution. The meeting was broadcast on the website of the US House of Representatives. The resolution was supported by 223 congressmen. 205 Republicans voted ’against’. The US Vice-President Michael Pence refused to remove Donald Trump from power shortly before the start of the vote. He made such statement in his letter to the Speaker of the US House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi. The letter was published by the White House.

5 Israel

An Israeli military vehicle came under fire near the border area with the Gaza Strip, the IDF press service reported. «A vehicle of the engineering troops was attacked some time ago.
