Attack on Novaya Kakhovka in the Kherson region // A detention center with PoWs in Yelenovka

The head of the military-civilian administration of the Kakhovka district, Vladimir Leontiev, reported that the Ukrainian forces launched several missile attacks on the town of Novaya Kakhovka, in the Kherson region. «Several missile strikes took place tonight. The local roads and civilian vehicles were damaged. The civilian infrastructure is being under a constant rocket fire by the Ukrainian forces’’ — he noted and added that — «they used to carry out their attacks during the night time. Now they are doing it during the daytime».

2 Donbass

Rocket pieces from a HIMARS were found near the attacked pre-trial detention center in the town of Yelenovka — the RIA NEWS reported. According to the report of the DPR’s Territorial Defense HQ — the death toll due to the Ukrainian rocket strike on the detention center in Yelenovka, which has some Ukrainian PoWs, went up to 53. Some time ago, the First Deputy Minister of Information of the DPR, Daniil Bezsonov, stated the following: «During the night time, the Ukrainian forces, likely, used MLRS ’HIMARS’ to hit the prison in the town of Yelenovka. 40 people died, 130 were injured. The rubble is still being cleared out. The numbers of victims may go up» — he reported.

3 Ukraine

The Ukrainian forces started using the MLRS ’M270’, sent by the UK. A footage of the use of M270 has been published by Ukraine. The US-made MLRS were made on the tracked vehicle ’Bradley’. In addition to the conventional rockets, the ’M270’ is capable of firing tactical missiles. The crew is 3 servicemen. The maximum speed is 65 kilometers per hour. The number of launchers is 12. Preparation time for the firing is 2 minutes. The minimum firing range is 10 kilometers. The maximum range is 80 km. The Ukrainian Defense Minister, Reznikov, recently reported about the arrival of ’M270’. Supposedly the UK plans to give Ukraine 3 such MLRS. Also, the Ukrainian forces have started using the APCs ’VAB’, given by France. Those APCs were designed by the Renault and Sauvier companies. The production began in 1976.

4 Russia

Sergei Lavrov, the Head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, stated that the remarks of Emmanuel Macron regarding the visits of Russian officials to the «juntas» in Africa were offensive to those states. «As for the President Macron and his statements — one would expect more ethical statements from the French» — Sergei Lavrov stated on 29th of July, during a press conference. He reminded that Macron stated that he was concerned about the military and diplomatic activity of Russia in Africa. He wouldn’t call it a cooperation per se, but rather — a support of ’’absolutely failed illegitimate regimes and juntas’’ — the RIA NEWS reported.

5 Donbass

The DPR and the LPR citizens will be able to receive certificates for the purchase of housing — Putin stated on 29th of July, during a conversation with the Deputy Prime Minister, Marat Husnullin. Putin asked the Deputy Prime Minister to provide help to both Donbass republics in restoring their houses and social infrastructure. “We are helping the LPR and the DPR with a special military operation. Unfortunately, it also comes at a high cost. There are great trials for the people who live there, and great destruction. The leadership of both republics is asking to help to restore their infrastructure facilities, and the residential parts of settlements» — Putin explained. Putin asked Khusnullin to work on those issues together with the leadership of the DPR and the LPR. Khusnullin replied that the representatives of the Ministry of Construction of Russia, and the specialists from the republics of Donbass, are currently making plans of restoration and construction of residential buildings in the DPR and the LPR. “Whatever we can restore — we will restore. China threatened to use force in case of any attempts to separate Taiwan from China — the local mass media reported. The government newspaper ’Global Times’ quoted the Chinese ambassador to the USA, Qin Gang, who promised drastic actions in case of violations of the Chinese territorial integrity and national interests. «If any country tries to separate Taiwan from China — the Chinese military will take decisive actions to protect the national sovereignty and territorial integrity» — Qin Gang stated without any further details. The statement was made due to the announcement of an intention of the US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to visit Taiwan in August — the newspaper concluded.
