The Vatican does not intend to maintain relations with the non-canonical churches in Ukraine that were recognized by the Patriarch of Constantinople Bartholomew, sources say. “The Vatican categorically does not interfere in the affairs of the Orthodoxy. But it is quite clear that the Holy See will not come into contact with the church recognized by Bartholomew” — TASS quotes a diplomatic source in the Vatican. Earlier, the Vatican commented on the statement of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry saying that the Holy See supports the autocephaly of Ukraine.

John Bolton, the assistant of the US president for National Security, spoke about the goals of his upcoming visit to Moscow. According to him — he is going to Moscow to discuss the relations between Russia and the US, the differences between countries, and a possible way to resolve them, TASS reports. “The reason for this is to continue the dialogue that President Trump and President Putin began this summer in Helsinki” — John Bolton explained in an interview to an American journalist. A meeting of Taliban representatives with the newly appointed United States Special Representative for Afghanistan Zalmay Khalilzad was held in the capital city of Qatar, TASS reports while citing The Wall Street Journal. The information about the negotiations was reported to the publication by their source that couldn’t clarify what exactly was discussed during the meeting. At the same time, the State Department did not confirm the meeting of the Taliban and Zalmay Khalilzad, who was appointed to the post of US Special Representative for Afghanistan last month.

The Russian Ambassador to the US, Anatoly Antonov, suspects Washington in trying to find an excuse for leaving the INF Treaty while blaming Moscow for such action, RIA NEWS reports. Anatoly Antonov noted that since recently the American military quite often make statements that they need medium and shorter range missiles to deter China. According to the diplomat — there is a search for an excuse for leaving of the INF Treaty while accusing Russia for it.

The mayor of Kiev, Vitali Klitschko, considers it necessary to abandon the centralized hot water supply in the Ukrainian capital. He stated this in an interview to the TV channel «Kiev». According to him, Kiev is «the only city in Eastern Europe with centralized hot water supply.» He explained that people in Europe and the US heat the water on their own, with the help of boilers located in houses or apartments. “Local heat generation is much more efficient, given the heat losses that exist in the central heating” — concluded the Kiev mayor.
