Iranian President, Hasan Rouhani, called for the introduction of political and trade sanctions against Israel and the United States during the emergency summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Istanbul. Rouhani called to Muslim states that «keep the independent policy» and proposed them «to break economic and trade ties with the Zionist regime» RIA NEWS reports while citing Anadolu. In addition, he believes that it is necessary to hold a meeting of the UN, at which the participants will discuss «illegal US decisions on Jerusalem, and the crimes of Israel.»

The President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, announced that in order to protect the people of Palestine from Israel — it is necessary to send peacekeeping forces to the Gaza Strip. According to him, the young Palestinians «are becoming victims of the terror of Israel every day.» The only way of protecting of the people of Palestine «is the dispatch of international peacekeeping forces», the Turkish leader explained.
