The leader of North Korea, Kim Jong-un, agreed to let the US inspectors inspect the nuclear test site, Bloomberg reported. «Kim Jong-un, during a recent meeting with CIA Director Michael Pompeo, agreed to the US request of inspecting the North Korean nuclear test site.» — notes Bloomberg, TASS agency reports. According to Bloomberg, the leader of the DPRK, during the conversation with Pompeo, also noted that Pyongyang has «no reason to not freeze the work of the test site if the security of the North Korea is guaranteed».

After the ministerial meeting of the G7 member countries held in Toronto, a senior US administration official announced that Washington doesn’t want any aid to be send for restoring those parts of Syria that are under control of Syrian government. «The United States do not believe that any assistance for reconstruction should be sent to areas controlled by the Assad regime» — TASS quotes the official. In addition, the G7 seemingly believes that the negotiations on the situation in Syria should be held in Geneva, under the aegis of the United Nations.

The USA are considering the possibility of keeping the aircraft carrier «Harry Truman» in the Mediterranean to oppose Russia and China in the region. This, of course, is the intensification of military and political pressure on Russia, and on Syria. ANNA NEWS considers such intentions to be an extremely dangerous action. The presence of a sufficiently powerful submarine forces, as well as an aircraft carrier in the Mediterranean sea, allows the USA to possibly engage Syria with a fairly strong strike group, and in the long term — they could engage Russia as well.

In 2018, the United Nations will be able to transfer to Kiev only 3% of the total amount of funds needed for the humanitarian support of the residents of Donbas region. This was reported by the humanitarian programs coordinator for Ukraine, Neil Walker. Experts are sure that such decision will not affect DPR and LPR in any way. According to them — the funds allocated by the West to the Donbas at best will reach only the population of the territories under Ukraine’s control, and at worst — the funds will be simply stolen.

In Afghanistan, as a result of two attacks by Taliban militants, at least 16 men of Afghan security forces were killed, RIA News reports while citing the Tolo News television channel. According to Tolo News, the attacks occurred on Sunday night, in Bagdis province. Nine servicemen were killed during Taliban attack at the checkpoint in the city of Kalai-Nau. Another seven policemen died in the attack on the police station in the Cads area.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif announced in an interview with CBS that if the USA pull themselves out from the nuclear deal and rekindle the sanctions against Tehran — Iran will resume its nuclear program. «We have several options, and all these options are ready to go. Among them there are those that include the resumption of our nuclear activities at a much higher rate. We will make the necessary decision when the time is right.» — Javad Zarif said.
