Investigative actions began today in the city administration of Kemerovo, in connection with the fire in the mall «Winter Cherry». The investigation affected the persons who «gave permission for the building’s operations», RIA News reports with a reference to a TV news channel «Russia 24». «Winter Cherry» was once reworked from a confectionery factory into a shopping center. The local administration refuses to comment on the actions of the investigators.

The American mass media reports that the US government considers the Russian decision to expel US diplomats to be «deplorable and unjust». The »New York Times» reports that «The Kremlin exceeded the equivalent response to the United States, and ordered the closure of the US consulate in Saints Petersburg, the second largest city in Russia. The center for the reconciliation of warring parties in Syria decided to extend humanitarian pause to let the remaining part of the Failak Ar-Rahman militants to move into the de-escalation zone of Idlib, the Russian Defense Ministry’s press service announced. «In order to let the remaining part of the Faylak Ar-Rahman fighters relocate themselves to the de-escalation zone ‘Idlib’ — the Russian Center for reconciliation of warring parties in Syria took a decision to extend humanitarian pause.» — RIA News reports.

The French authorities decided to send their troops to help the Kurdish militia in Manbije. A Kurdish delegation recently met with French President Emmanuel Macron. According to the representative of that delegation — Makron intends to «in the very near future» send to Manbige some special forces of the French army. Their number was not announced. It is reported that the operation will be conducted in coordination with the US military. Earlier, the Kurdish administration of the Afrin region promised Ankara guerrilla warfare all over the region.

Foreign drones, without identification marks, circled eighteen times over the Russian borders at the Black Sea, over Ukraine, and over the DPR and the LPR. Possible purpose of those drones could be recording the work of Russian radio devices, EW equipment and radar detection systems. One of the drones violated Russian air border and invaded Russian airspace for about 270 meters. Russian EW units reacted instantly — they managed to intercept the remote control of the drone, and force it to land on the Bagerovo airfield in Crimea. The drone will be handed over to engineers for a detailed study.

As a result of the artillery shelling of the Gaza Strip by the army of Israel — one person died. It was reported that the city of Khan Yunis in the south of the sector was hit, where a protest rally took place. At least three more people were also injured.
