The Russian Ministry of Defense has approved the concept of non-strategic missile defense, which in the long term should ensure the security of all Russia from the missile strikes, »Izvestia» newspaper reported. «The parts of this system will cover the cities, important social institutions, large groups of troops, roads, and industrial infrastructure. Their potential targets will be the hypersonic aircraft and ballistic missiles. Right now such systems exist only around the key strategic facilities» — the publication explains.

During a closed meeting, the Committee of the Ukrainian Parliament on the issue of freedom of speech and the information policy supported a draft law that puts fines on the mass media for publishing fake news and denying the Russian aggression, Interfax reports. As it was previously reported, a group of deputies drafted a law through which the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting will be able to fine the media sources that deny the «Russian aggression» and spread the «fake» news. The Parliamentary Committee recommended the Ukrainian Parliament to adopt the draft law by the results of its review.

The USA delivered a large batch of weapons, ammo and missiles to Ukraine, Interfax reported while citing their source. According to the source — the delivery was made on 30th of August through the border checkpoint «Krakovets». “About 3,500 units of small arms, over 3,000 landmines, about 2,000,000 rounds of ammunition, about 34,000 detonating devices, 52,000 missiles and 5,380,000 blank cartridges were imported into Ukraine” — the source said.

The Russian Federal Council approved the law that punishes the firing, or refusal of giving a job to the citizens of pre-retirement age, RIA NEWS reports. According to the law — such violations will be punished with a fine of up to 200,000 rubles, or with mandatory labor for up to 360 hours. The pre-retirement age is the period of up to 5 years before the retirement. Also, the Federal Council approved a law on improving the pension legislation, and establishing some benefits for the people of the pre-retirement age.

Reporters of ANNA NEWS report: Fierce fighting is taking place between the Islamist groups. The fighters of the National Liberation Front are fighting the »Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham» group in the southern part of Idlib province. Currently, the representatives of the Turkish army are negotiating with all Islamist groups in order to ensure the implementation of the Sochi agreements, reached between Putin and Erdogan. A Turkish brigade of special forces has been sent to the province of Idlib.

The Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, answered the question from the IPN agency regarding the possible Georgian membership in NATO — Georgia will become a member of the alliance after reaching the standards of NATO. “All the leaders of the alliance agreed that Georgia will become a member of NATO. We will help Georgia in this matter, and we will help them in carrying out the reforms and in the enhancing of their democratic institutions» — Stoltenberg explained. As we have reported earlier — a meeting of NATO defense ministers will take place in Brussels today.
