A group of US Navy warships, led by the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier Karl Vinson, arrived today with a friendly visit to the Vietnamese port of Danang. The group includes the missile destroyer ‘Wayne Meyer’ and ‘Lake Champion’ missile cruiser, TASS reports. The official spokesman for the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that it is the first visit of American ships to Vietnam since the end of the Vietnam War in 1975. It became possible after the agreement reached by the heads of the two countries during the visit of US President Donald Trump in November 2017.

In DPR, over the past day, Ukrainian forces violated the ceasefire agreements 13 times, firing 483 shells at the front-line territories of the Republic. During the shelling, mortars, grenade launchers and small arms were used. The northern and western outskirts of Donetsk, Dokuchaevsk, Petrovskoye, Sosnovskoye of Telmanovsky district, as well as Sakhanka and Kominternovo in the south of the Republic were under fire.

Terrorists in Syria promised to release the civilians from Eastern Guta in exchange for humanitarian aid. The humanitarian convoy of the Red Crescent plans to move out on Monday. The transfer of cargo should take place with the support of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties, which will ensure the safety of convoy’s passage, RIA NEWS reports. Trucks with humanitarian aid and a medical hospital are already lined up at the checkpoint in the village of Al-Wafidin, where the humanitarian corridor from Eastern Guta is located. The convoy consists of 45 vehicles.

The Russian Foreign Ministry has begun systemic work to collect evidence on US interference in Russia’s affairs, Deputy Minister Sergei Ryabkov said at a meeting of the Interim Council of the Federation Council dealing with the protection of state sovereignty. According to him, this work will concern not only the attempts of American interference in Russian internal affairs, but also some other destructive efforts made by Americans.

In Libya, oil extraction has been suspended at the largest Sharara oil field. A certain source said that production was suspended at Sunday. Another source said that the event has connection with the closure of the pipeline from the field to the terminal at an oil refinery in the city of Ez-Zavia. The extraction on the «Sharar» field brings Libya 300 thousand barrels per day.

Russian senator Alexei Pushkov said that the United States mistakenly expected that Russia would continue to supply gas to Kiev. He noted that after the sanctions and threats against Russia, Washington no longer can »count on anything». According to Pushkov, Russia should not solve the problems of the Ukrainian economy at its own expense. At the same time, he noted that in the US and Europe there is no-one willing to financially help Kiev.
