The former South Korean president, Pak Kun Hye, was sentenced today to 24 years in prison for the corruption, and abuse of the presidential authority during her tenure as head of state. The verdict was announced by the Central District Court of Seoul. The court also ordered the ex-president to pay a fine of $ 17 million. Pak Keng Hye was found guilty of 16 accusations out of 18, among them bribery and the disclosure of state secrets. The former president was also blamed for allowing her close friend, Choi Sun-Sil, to interfere in the state affairs.
The British Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Karen Pearce, at a meeting of the UN Security Council announced that the British side is ready to share the results of the OPCW sample analysis on the case of the poisoning of Sergei Skripal and his daughter. «Contrary to what Russia insists on, the UK is ready to share the results of the analysis» she said. One of the Vladimir’s defenders explained that the court had decided to keep the captain under arrest until May 31st. According to the Ukrainian media, the prosecutor petitioned for the election of a preventive measure in the form of detention in custody with a mortgage of 35 thousand of Ukrainian hryvnias.
