At the same time, while speaking at the ceremony in memory of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, Shinzo Abe made a promise to «do everything in his power to achieve a world without nuclear weapons», and he underlined that Japan should lead the movement of nuclear disarmament. The day before, North Korea announced Japanese intention to create nuclear weapons, thus rebuking Tokyo for nuclear ambitions.
