During the past day the AFU shelled the positions of the People’s Militia of the LPR four times. Logvinovo, Kalinovka and Sanzharovka were subjected to shelling by means of large-caliber artillery installations, mortars, armored vehicles, grenade launchers and small arms.

During the past day the AFU violated the ceasefire 13 times, releasing 198 units of various munitions in the front-line territories of the Republic and, for the first time after the New Year armistice entered into force, using artillery fire. The most intense fire was delivered on the Gorlovsky direction. The shelling was also conducted in the Donetsk and Mariupol directions. As a result of shelling of the village of Spartak, north of Donetsk, and the village of Dolomitnoe, north of Gorlovka, two civilians were wounded.

During the past week in Yemen, the aviation of the international coalition led by Saudi Arabia inflicted 376 air strikes on strongpoints, ammunition depots and clusters of Husit insurgents on the southern borders. As we reported earlier, numerous attacks resulted in casualties among civilians. According to the Pentagon’s military operations command in the Middle East, during the air strikes in Yemen in November-December, the US aircraft destroyed several key al-Qaeda leaders on the Arabian Peninsula.

The Yemeni Husits shelled the border area of Saudi Arabia again. According to the television channel Al Masirah, it was a test of a short-range ballistic missile. The rocket was launched aiming at the military barracks in the province of Najran. As the Saudi army said later, the projectile was destroyed by the air defense forces of the kingdom. Victims and destruction are not revealed.

The US Air Force transferred three B-2 Spirit strategic bombers capable of carrying nuclear weapons to the Pacific island of Guam. Also 200 ordinary aircraft were transferred to support bombers.

Turkish security forces arrested a man who played a key role in the assassination of Russian Ambassador Andrei Karlov. The suspect was already arrested because of the involvement in the group «Hizmet». The investigation also found that he used ByLock program, which encrypts messages. After the murder of Karlov on December 19, 2016, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation initiated a criminal case under the article «The Act of International Terrorism».
