Chinese aircraft invasion of Taiwan || Спецвыпуск 03.10.2021
This is a special program from the ANNA NEWS. I am Constantine Reztsov.
Taiwan reported the «largest ever» incursion of the Chinese Air Force into the Taiwanese air defense identification zone. About 38 Chinese aircraft showed up in 2 waves. Among them there were four H-6 bombers that can carry nuclear weapons, and an anti-submarine aircraft.
According to the Taiwanese authorities — the show of force is related to the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China. A military parade was held in Beijing on Friday as well.
According to the Taiwanese Ministry of Defense — the first group of the Chinese aircraft flew near the Pratas Islands. 2 bombers flew the closest to the atoll.
The 2nd group headed for the Bashi Canal, which separates Taiwan from the Philippines. The Bashi Canal is a waterway that connects the Pacific Ocean to the disputed South China Sea.
The Taiwanese military aircraft took off to warn the Chinese aircraft that the Taiwanese missile systems were on the alert to monitor them — the Taiwanese Ministry of Defense reported.
China has yet to comment on its own actions. China has previously stated that such flights are made to protect the Chinese sovereignty, and counter the «collusion» between Taiwan and the USA, the main international sponsor and curator of the Taiwanese authorities.
The previous major air invasion took place in June. Back then 28 Chinese airplanes showed up. China has recently stepped up their military and political pressure on Taiwan, which claims to be a separate state, and wants to have a democratic government, inspired by the American model.
An ’air defense identification zone’ is an area outside a country’s territory and national airspace where the foreign aircraft are being identified and tracked in the interests of the national security. Technically such area is still the international airspace.
