The United Nations is concerned about the intensification of hostilities in the area of the Infrastructure of water, eiectricity and gas supply in Donetsk, the UN humanitarian coordinator in Ukraine Neil Walker said on Wednesday. He notes that about 1 million people living on both sides of the contact line suffer. He stressed that any deliberate attempt to prevent access to water or heating is a clear violation of international humanitarian law. He called on all parties of the conflict to respect such legislation and ensure security and basic needs for civilians.
The Ukrainian side explained who «actually» shelled Donetsk on the 5th of November from heavy artillery. It is reported on the page of the Ukrainian command on Facebook. According to the AFU leadership’s statement, because of the fire in the warehouse of the «illegal armed forces» in the Ukrainian village Opytnoe, missiles from there flew to the Kiev district of Donetsk.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine violated the ceasefire 35 times, it was reported in the operational command of the DPR. 19 settlements of the Republic were under the fire. They used artillery, tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, armored personnel carriers, mortars, grenade launchers and small arms.
During the past day, Kiev forces shelled the positions of the People’s Militia of the LPR 12 times. Villages Kalinovo, Logvinovo, Kalinovka, Prishib, Sokolniki, Krasny Liman, Pionerskoe and Zhelobok were subjected to fire. They used mortars, antiaircraft guns, grenade launchers and small arms.
The new airdrone was tested in Ukraine, the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine Aleksandr Turchynov said. The first flight tests of the aircraft «Gorlitsa» were conducted. It is capable of launching air-to-surface missiles.
