Since the start of the martial law in Ukraine — the situation on the line of contact changed notably. The activity of the Ukrainian army has increased in many areas. This is evident by an increased number of attacks on the DPR and LPR, and the open demonstration of heavy military equipment by the Ukrainian military on their own positions. The scouts of the Lugansk People’s Republic presented a footage in which the outlines of a disguised tank were visible. The shelling of the positions of the People’s Militia comes from there.
On the night of 14th of December, the Ukrainian Forces conducted a massive shelling of the Novoazovskii District. “As a result, the only store in the village of Kominternovo burned down. The situation is tense at the moment” — said the press service of the district administration.
Very few inhabitants left in the frontline settlements around the city of Donetsk. Most of the people from those villages had to leave their homes, thus escaping the shelling of the Ukrainian army. One of such villages named Spartak. Some of the locals live in their basements, under daily shelling. They hope that something will change after the elections.
The Department of People’s Militia of the DPR appealed to the international organizations with a plea to not allow the Ukrainian Army to perform a chemical attack on Mariupol. This was stated by the head of the press service of the people’s militia of the DPR, Daniel Bezsonov. He also appealed to the residents of Mariupol and urged them to leave the likely zone of chemical contamination in the very near future. Otherwise — he recommend to acquire personal protective gear, and to not let children attend schools and preschool institutions.
