DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions are annexed to Russia

The majority of residents of the DPR, the LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions voted ’for’ the accession of their regions to Russia with a high turnout. The voting was declared to be valid in all 4 regions. The voting took place from 23rd till 27th of September. Because of the threat of Ukrainian shelling, and for the sake of security, for the first 4 days the ballots were accepted by mobile election commissions inside schools, theaters, and nearby territories. The residents were visited personally to take their votes. On the last day it was possible to cast a vote at the specially prepared polling stations. The refugees could vote in Russia. In the Kherson region, 87,05% of voters voted ’for’ joining Russia. In the Zaporozhye region, 93.11% of voters voted ’for’ joining Russia. In the DPR, 99.23% of voters voted ’for’ joining Russia. In the LPR, 98.42% of voters voted ’for’ joining Russia.

On 30th of September, Vladimir Putin and the leaders of the DPR, the LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions signed the agreements on joining Russia. Vladimir Putin delivered a speech that some experts compared to his «Munich speech» from 2007. He made a number of important statements, including a call to Kiev for a ceasefire, and peace talks — the RIA NEWS reported. On the same day, Vladimir Zelensky stated that Ukraine is applying to join the NATO on an accelerated basis. He added that he isn’t ready to talk with Putin.

Denis Pushilin, the head of the DPR, reported that the town of Krasny Liman, in the DPR, was taken into a half-circle by the Ukrainian forces. “At the moment, Krasny Liman is surrounded in a semi-circle. The road from Svatovo is under our control, but sometimes it is under fire as well» — Denis Pushilin reported on his Telegram channel. The Russian helicopters KA-52 actively support the Russian ground forces that defend Krasny Liman. Attacks on the Ukrainian forces are also being carried out at night. Denis Pushilin also reported about a difficult situation near the villages of Yampol and Drobishevo, located in the Krasno-limansky district. Ukraine sent a significant amount of forces in that area — the TASS reported. «The villages of Yampol and Drobyshevo aren’t fully controlled by us. Our guys are still fighting. The reserves are coming — we will hold out. However, the enemy has also sent serious forces in there» — he added.

The Turkish Air Force carried out air-strikes on the Iraqi territory — the ’Kurdistan 24’ reported on 27th of September. The air-strikes were carried out on the areas of Sulaymaniyah, Mawat, and the village of Galala. The targets of the air-strikes were the military facilities of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party. The Turkish Air Force reportedly hit several PKK field camps. At the same time — local residential houses and outbuildings were damaged.

’’The Iranian artillery hits the Iraqi territory for the 7th day in a row’’ — the ’Shafaq’ news agency reported on 29th of September. The Iranian forces shelled the areas of Sakar and Barzini, near the city of Sidekan, in the east of Iraqi Kurdistan. The mayor of the city of Sidekan, Ihsan Shalabi, stated that there is an information about the destruction of residential and commercial buildings. The Iranian forces are hitting the areas, used by the Kurdish forces to send weapons from Iraq to Iran. Earlier, the Counter-Terrorism HQ of the Iraqi Kurdistan confirmed that the Iranian forces fired about 70 rockets at the city of Erbil, killing 13 and injuring 58 people.

The Yemeni rebels stated that Saudi Arabia is violating the ceasefire in port city of Hodeidah — the official rebel TV channel, Al-Masirah, reported on 29th of September. During the 28th and 29th of September, the Saudi forces attacked the rebel positions with artillery pieces and small arms. The violations of the ceasefire also include sorties of spy drones. 9 violations are related to the artillery shelling. 50 violations are related to the small arms fire. Over the past day the ceasefire was violated 73 times.
