1 Russia

More than 848,000 people took part in the online voting in Moscow. The head of the Public HQ for the Election Observation in Moscow, Alexei Venediktov, stated that the turnout by 15:00 exceeded 40%. The elections of the 8th convocation of the parliament are being held from 17th to 19th of September. In Moscow, in addition to the parliamentary elections, there are by-elections of deputies in 2 districts, and elections of municipal deputies in the Shchukino region. Electronic ballots are provided for elections of all 3 levels.According to the ’TASS’ — more than 2 million Moscow citizens who successfully registered to participate in the electronic voting before 13th of September were excluded from the voting lists at the polling stations; they won’t be given a paper ballot at the polling station. Computer attacks from different countries didn’t affect the performance of the electronic voting system in Moscow — it withstood 329 attacks in the first hours of operation.The head of the Department for Improving Territorial Governance and Development of Smart Projects of the Moscow Government, Artem Kostyrko, stated that 70% of the cyber attacks came from the USA.

2 Donbass

3 civilians were injured as a result of the morning shelling of Donetsk — the DPR mission at the Joint Center for the Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire stated. “The 120mm mortar shelling took place at 6:50 AM from the village of Peski” — end of statement. The office reported that 4 residential buildings in the Oktyabrskiy village in the north-west of Donetsk were damaged.

3 Kazakhstan

The Russian Air and Space Forces launched a missile of the new Russian missile defense system at the ’Sary-Shagan’ training ground, in Kazakhstan, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported. The commander of the anti-missile defense forces, Major General Sergei Grabchuk, stated that a series of tests had confirmed the characteristics of the anti-missile. The military successfully completed the task by hitting a training target with the needed accuracy. Previous tests of the new anti-missile were carried out in April.

4 Syria

1st ’Pakistan International Airlines’ flight landed at the Damascus International Airport — the ’SANA’ news agency reported. The arrival of the airplane opens a possible resumption of the flights between the two countries, which were suspended 10 years ago.

5 Tajikistan — Afghanistan

The Taliban considers it important to restore the destroyed infrastructure in Afghanistan. «Obviously the Taliban are unlikely to do this on their own. Russia supports the idea of gathering representatives of an international donor conference on Afghanistan under the UN flag» — Vladimir Putin stated during a joint meeting of the SCO and CSTO on Friday, in Dushanbe. He explained that the overall situation in the Afghan economy is extremely difficult. All the funds in foreign banks are frozen — the RIA NEWS quoted his words.

6 The USA

The USA will enhance their military presence in Australia. The US military bases are planned to be built in south of Australia — the Australian Secretary of Defense, Peter Dutton, told to the ’9NEWS’ on Friday. There are currently 2 US military bases in Australia — a reconnaissance center in the north, in Alice Springs, and a naval base in Exmouth, Western Australia.
