Exchange of prisoners took place between Ukraine and Russia
1 The DPR The head of the DPR, Denis Pushilin, reported about an exchange of PoWs with Kiev. He added that he personally signed such decree, based on the ’’no-one is left behind’’ principle. As part of the exchange, 55 Russian servicemen were released. 215 people, including representatives of the Ukrainian nationalist battalions, were given to Kiev. According to Denis Pushilin, the negotiations were very difficult. Ukraine, at some stages, almost completely disrupted the exchange process. Earlier, the official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Lieutenant-General Igor Konashenkov, stated that all the released servicemen were sent to the Russian military medical institutions. They are getting the necessary psychological and medical help. Viktor Medvedchuk was released as well — he was held in a custody in Ukraine due to the criminal cases of «Treason» and «Assistance to the activities of terrorist organizations’’. According to Denis Pushilin — Medvedchuk made a big contribution to the exchanges.
2 Republics of Donbass On 22nd of September the Ukrainian forces, once again, shelled the center of Donetsk — 6 people died, 6 were wounded. The data is being clarified. The shelling was carried out from the French artillery pieces ’Caesar’. A market in the city center was the target. One of the shells destroyed a passenger bus. The Ministry of Information of the DPR, and the local TV channel «Union», posted the consequences of the attack on their Telegram channels. The debris removal still continues — Denis Pushilin reported. Earlier, the representative office of the DPR in the ceasefire center reported that the Ukrainian forces fired seven 155mm NATO shells at the Voroshilovsky district of the city. Local authorities reported about a hit on the city administration area. The Ukrainian Nazis once again shelled the town of Energodar and the Zaporozhye NPP. Over the past day they fired about 15 shells. The city of Melitopol is under attack as well — 3 people were injured in an explosion at the central city market — Vladimir Rogov, a member of the main council of the administration of the Zaporozhye region, reported.
3 Russia The Russian FSB prevented an attempt of the Ukrainian special forces to commit a sabotage-terrorist act on an oil and gas plant that supplies gas and oil to Turkey and Europe — the FSB’s PR center reported. The FSB detained a man, born in 1978, who was recruited by the SBU, in Ukraine. 2 IEDs were confiscated from the man. The FSB found correspondence with his Ukrainian curator, instructions for assembling IEDs, and the coordinates of the explosion site on the electronic devices of the suspect. 4 more agents of the SBU, citizens of Russia who helped to prepare the terrorist attack, were arrested as well. On 22nd of September the Ukrainian special forces planned to destroy some power lines in the Kherson region. They were stopped — Kirill Stremousov reported and added that Ukraine will try to intimidate the population so they won’t go to the referendum. The authorities of the Kherson region promised to do ’’everything possible to prevent it from happening. We guarantee the security» — end of quote.
4 Syria A conflict began between the so-called «Syrian opposition» and the terrorists of the «Heyyat-Tahrir-ash-Sham», which is a branch of the «Al-Qaeda», in the Syrian city of Idlib — the ’’Al-Araby-al-Jadid’’ news agency reported. The cause of the conflict was the arrest of a number of representatives of the local administration, which receives support from Turkey, by the members of the ’’Heyat-Tahrir al-Sham’’. Barricades have been built on the streets of Idlib, which are guarded by the terrorists. Skirmishes take place in the city, which, according to the preliminary data, led to casualties among the locals and the terrorists. Idlib was captured by the terrorists back in 2014, and has been the main stronghold of terrorists in Syria ever since.
5 The UK The Russian embassy in London warned that the militaristic policy of the UK and its confrontational course could lead to a disaster. The embassy added that the statements of the UK Foreign Minister, and the UK Prime Minister, Elizabeth Truss that the West allegedly «never threatened Russia and didn’t infringe on the Russian territorial integrity» should be taken critically. Earlier, the press secretary of the President of Russia, Dmitry Peskov, stated that Moscow doesn’t expect any positive changes in relations with London after the election of Liz Truss as the UK Prime Minister. On 21st of September Vladimir Putin stated in an address to the Russian citizens that the goal of the collective West is to weaken and destroy Russia.
6 Latvia The Saeima of Latvia approved the amendments to the Immigration Law of Latvia, according to which a ban is introduced on the issuance of new long-term working visas for the Russian citizens. The new amendments to the Latvian Immigration Law also provide a suspension of the validity of the permanent residence permits for Russian citizens in Latvia from 1st of September, 2023. Their validity can be extended by submitting a certificate of knowledge of the Latvian language. Since 19th of September Latvia, Lithuania, Poland and Estonia have restricted the entry into the Schengen area for the Russians with EU visas, who come for tourism, cultural, sports and business purposes.
