Fights in Nagorno-Karabakh

1 Azerbaijan

The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reported that Armenia fired at the territory of the Barda region from a «Tochka-U» missile system. «The Armenian troops opened fire on the territory of the Barda region from a »Tochka-U» tactical missile system» — the report stated. The Prosecutor General’s Office of Azerbaijan reported that 7 people were injured as a result of the shelling. It was also reported that 31 civilians were killed since the start of the hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh, and 154 were injured.

2 Azerbaijan — Greece

The press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reported that Baku recalled the ambassador to Greece for consultations. «Azerbaijan informed the Greek Foreign Ministry about the reports from the open sources about the arrival of foreign citizens, including the citizens of Greece of Armenian origin, to the occupied territories of Azerbaijan in order to participate in the fighting. Azerbaijan asked Greece to conduct an investigation. Due to the decision of Greece to recall their ambassador for consultations — the Azerbaijani ambassador to Greece was recalled to Baku for consultations as well» — the report explained.

3 Armenia

The official representative of the Armenian Defense Ministry, Artsrun Hovhannisyan, reported that on Thursday the Azerbaijani troops fired rockets at the Cathedral of the Holy Christ the All-Savior Kazanchetsots, in the city of Shusha, in the Nagorno-Karabakh region. The photos, demonstrated by the representative of the Armenian Defense Ministry, show that a rocket hit and pierced the dome of the cathedral. The cathedral was seriously damaged. Earlier it was reported that the Azerbaijani forces resumed the shelling the city of Stepanakert, after a break. The shelling continued with interruptions on the evening of 7th of October, on Thursday night.

4 Armenia

A spokeswoman for the Armenian Defense Ministry, Shushan Stepanyan, reported on Facebook that the Azerbaijani forces twice tried to attack the positions of the defense army of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh republic on the southern frontline. «Today, at about 14:00, the enemy made 2 attacks at the southern direction of the border. The attacks were repelled by the actions of the defense army. The enemy suffered heavy losses in manpower. 9 enemy military vehicles were destroyed» — the message concluded.

5 Syria

The Syrian news agency SANA reported that 2 people were injured by a strong explosion that took place on Thursday night, in the city of Deraa, in south-western Syria. An IED exploded in the Es Sabil area, in the city center. There was also a report about a mine explosion in the village of Al-Husseinya, in the north of the province of Deir ez-Zor. The explosion killed 1 employee of the local Department of Agriculture. 2 people were injured — they were taken to the hospital.

6 Syria

The SANA News agency reported that a US convoy, carrying military materials and logistical equipment, crossed the Al-Waleed border crossing point, and entered the Syrian province of Hasakah from Iraq. The convoy of 55 trucks was escorted by helicopters. It was noted that 13 military vehicles joined the convoy — they went on the ‘Tel Ades’ highway to Rmeilan.
