Interception of US planes
The Russian National Center of Defense reported that Su-30, Su-35 and MiG-31 fighters from the Russian ‘Eastern Military District’ took off to intercept two US Air Force B-52N bombers over the Okhotsk Sea. «On 19th of June, 2020, the air defense personnel from the ‘Eastern Military District’ detected and escorted a pair of US Air Force B-52N bombers over the neutral waters of the Okhotsk Sea. The US Air Force aircraft were continuously escorted by the Russian forces at a considerable distance from Russia» — the report concluded. The center specified that no violations of the Russian state borders were committed.
2 The Black Sea
The Ukrainian newspaper «Dumskaya» reported that on 18th of June the USS dock landing ship ‘Oak Hill’ entered the Black Sea. The ship joined the USS missile destroyer ‘Porter’, which entered the Black Sea on 17th of June. According to the press service of the US 6th fleet — the USS «Oak Hill» will fulfill security tasks, thus enhancing the US relations with their allies and partners in the Black Sea region. The visit of the USS «Oak Hill» was the 4th entry of the US Navy ships into the Black Sea since the beginning of 2020. On Wednesday the Russian National Defense Center reported that the forces of the Russian Southern Military District have begun tracking the actions of the USS Porter.
The SANA news agency reported that an underground stash of weapons and ammo was found in the Syrian province of Quneitra, during searching of the areas, liberated by the Syrian army from the terrorists. The stash was found under a plantation in the village of Ar-Rafid, in the south of the province. Machine guns, rifles, and various types of ammo were found, some of which were made in the Western countries — the SANA specified.
4 India — China
The Indian newspaper «Telegraph» reports, while citing their sources, that the Chinese army released 10 Indian servicemen who were captured during the clashes on 15th and 16th of June, in the East Ladakh. The newspaper reported that the act of transferring of PoWs took place on Thursday evening. It was reported that the Indian soldiers were released after the negotiations that took place on Thursday, at the level of major-generals and district commanders. Previously the ‘NDTV’ reported that at least 76 Indian servicemen were injured in clashes with the Chinese army.
The ‘Tolo News’ TV reported that as a result of the Taliban attack in the Kunduz province, in north-east of Afghanistan, 7 Afghan servicemen were killed, 1 was injured. A source of the ‘Tolo News’ from the security forces said that the terrorists attacked the military checkpoint on Friday night, in the Imam Sahib district, at the north of the province. It was reported that the Taliban «also suffered losses» as a result of the attack. The exact number of the losses wasn’t specified.
The ‘Reuters’ reports, while citing their sources, that on Friday, the Ruling Council of the International Atomic Energy Agency adopted a joint draft resolution from the UK, France and Germany. The resolution demands Iran to provide an access to two facilities where the agency suspects the possible storage of undeclared nuclear material. The Russian permanent representative to the international organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, stated that Russia and China voted ‘against’ the resolution. The Iranian Permanent Representative to the International Organizations in Vienna, Kazem Garib Abadi, announced that Tehran completely rejects the resolution on the Iranian nuclear program, and Iran will carry out counter-acts.
