Iran will resume its nuclear program

Starting from 15th of May, Iran officially suspends the fulfillment of a part of Iranian obligations under the Joint Comprehensive Action Plan. This was stated by the representative of the Atomic Energy Agency of Iran — TASS reports. According to the representative — this decision was made by the Supreme National Security Council of Iran. The representative also indicated that Tehran could resume its work on the uranium enrichment, and stop upgrading the heavy-water reactor in Arak if the parties of the treaty won’t fulfill their requirements within 60 days.

The Military Council of Sudan and the representatives of the »Alliance for Freedom and Change» agreed to establish a three-year long transition period in Sudan — TASS reports with a reference to the TV channel ‘Al Arabiya’. The country’s military authorities also reported that an agreement was reached with the opposition to form a legislative council of 300 people. According to the statement, the military «will finalize the agreements with the alliance within the next 24 hours». On 11th April, after many months of protests during the most difficult economic situation in Sudan — the army removed the President Omar al-Bashir, who ruled the country for 30 years, from power, and took the control of the state by creating a temporary Military Council. The military dissolved the parliament and suspended the constitution.

The construction of the ‘Nord Stream-2’ gas pipeline fully complies with the laws, and it doesn’t need a “Plan B” in case of sanctions from the United States. This was announced to the Turkish agency Anadolu in Berlin by the representative of the project’s operator, ‘Nord Stream 2 AG’, Jens Muller. “We feel at ease” — he explained while also noting that investors express «a strong commitment” to their work. They «fully guaranteed the financing of the project» — the agency interlocutor assured, while underlining that the pipe-laying continues according to the plan.

Juan Guaido, the self-proclaimed interim president of Venezuela and the head of the oppositional National Assembly of Venezuela announced that his representative in the United States, Carlos Vecchio, will meet the American Southern Command on 20th of May — RT reports. According to him — the meeting will be held in the US State Department. Earlier, Juan Guaido instructed his representative in the United States to establish direct contacts for the cooperation with the US military.

A group of US senators submitted a bill to ban the issuing of the American visas to the students and employees of the institutions, associated with the Chinese army. The senators intend «to ban the individuals, hired or sponsored by the Chinese military institutions, from receiving student or research visas to the United States». As Senator Tom Cotton, one of the authors of the bill, noted in a statement — “not letting the scientists from the Chinese army to our research laboratories is an act of self-defense”. According to another senator, Chuck Grassley, the visas should be «reserved for those foreign nationals who want to contribute to the US universities and research institutions, and not to the foreign opponents, and the spies that wish to bring harm».

The Corporation ‘China National Nuclear Power’ signed a general contract for the construction of the third and fourth power units of the Xujapu nuclear power plant with the Russian company «Atomstroyexport», from the Corporation ‘Rosatom’. The deal is worth of $17 billions of dollars — Interfax reports. The construction of the power units is planned for October of 2021, and August of 2022. In March, the ASE and the CNNP signed a contract on a technical project of the construction of these units. In accordance with the signed contracts — Russia will design the nuclear circuit of the station. As well as the key equipment of the nuclear circuit for the third and fourth power units of the Xujapu nuclear power plant. Thus, China handed over to Rosatom a project that was previously intended for the American company ‘Westinghouse’.
