Israel Defense Forces attacked Iranian military facilities

»Several Israeli missiles were intercepted by the Syrian forces near the city of Damascus on Wednesday night» — the Syrian state-run news agency SANA reports. According to the SANA — the Israeli air force attacked several areas of Damascus. Most missiles were intercepted.

The Israeli newspaper «Haaretz» reported that the Israel Defense Forces attacked about 20 targets in Syria. More than a half of the targets belonged to the Iranian forces. «On Wednesday, the Israeli army announced the attack on many targets belonging to the Iranian forces «Quds», and the army of Bashar al-Assad in Syria» — the RIA NEWS quoted «Haaretz».

»Tishrin’, the second-largest hydropower plant in Syria, located in the Aleppo province, was taken by government forces» — the representative of the command of the group of the Russian troops in Syria, Boris Fomichev, told to the reporters. At the moment, the hydropower plant supplies electricity to the provinces of Aleppo and Raqqa. The Russian military police will begin patrolling the area near this strategically important facility from Monday.

«The Russian military police expanded their patrol zone in Syria, and made the abandoned American base ‘Sirrin’ into a control point» — a Russian military police officer Safar Safarov said to the RIA NEWS. “Since the moment the Americans left — we are now responsible for the entire territory of the canton of Manbij, and the territories nearby” — he explained. The commander of the airport ‘Metras’ reported that the engineering work is underway, as well as the arrangement of the territory for the personnel.

In the city of Nur Sultan, on 10th and 11th of December, an international meeting, aimed to resolve the situation in Syria, will take place. This was announced on Friday, by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Mukhtar Tleuberdi. The 13th international meeting on Syria was held in the capital of Kazakhstan on 1st and 2nd of August. It was attended by delegations from the guarantor states: Russia, Iran, and Turkey. Also there were delegations from the Syrian government and from the Syrian armed opposition.

«The FSB of Russia reported about the detention of two leaders and seven members of the «Hizb ut-Tahrir» terrorist organization.
