Large-scale fire in Ukraine

«The People’s Militia of the LPR provided, by a request of Kiev, the security guarantees for the use of special aircraft by Ukraine to contain the fires near the contact line in the territory, controlled by Ukraine» — said the head of the People’s Militia of the LPR, Yan Leshchenko. According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the forest fires currently threaten 32 settlements on the territory of the Luhansk region controlled by Kiev. 9 people died from the fires. 17 were hospitalized, 150 were evacuated. The total area of ​​fires is over 13,000 hectares. More than 2,500 people and more than 260 vehicles are involved in the extinguishing of the fires, including 3 An-32P aircraft and 2 Mi-8 helicopters.

«The fire has spread to the Ukrainian entry-exit point ‘Stanitsa Luhanska'» — the press service of the State Border Service of Ukraine reported. It was noted that the fire damaged parts of the infrastructure. “From the ‘Stanitsa Luganskaya’ checkpoint the fire has spread to Donetskaya and Lomonosov streets, along the checkpoint. The wooden sheds of the checkpoint are on fire” — the Ukrainian Stanichno-Lugansk regional state administration told to the reporters. It was noted that the fire destroyed the ICRC module and the waiting pavilion.

On 28th of September the Ukrainian troops violated the ceasefire once by firing 3 grenades from an under-barrel grenade launcher at the Mariupol direction. On 26th of September, the Ukrainian troops conducted a massive shelling of the village of Dolomitnoye for several hours, thus violating the measures taken to enhance and control the current ceasefire. As a result, 15 houses of the village burned down. The fire spread to the fields.

«A woman and a child were injured as a result of an explosion of an explosive device in the front-line village of Zolotoe-5» — the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the LPR reported. The woman was taken to the operating unit of the Pervomaisk central hospital — she had explosive injuries on her legs. The child received an explosive injury, multiple wounds to the face, chest, anterior abdominal wall, and both arms. The child was sent to the Luhansk Republican Clinical Hospital. The circumstances of the incident are being investigated.

«The Ukrainian troops opened fire at a drone of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission near the village of Artyom, in the Stanichno-Luhansk region» — Aleksandr Mazeykin, an officer of the press service of the People’s Militia Department of the LPR, told to the reporters. He added that it was confirmed by the official report of the OSCE SMM from 29th of September. Alexander Mazeikin also stated that the additional measures, taken to enhance the ceasefire, allowed the specialists from the communal enterprises of the Republic to lay a power line to the village of Zelyonaya Roshcha, located at the frontline.

The Security Contact Group had a meeting during this week. During the meeting the Ukrainian side once again announced the alleged completion of a set of additional ceasefire measures. The representatives of the Donbass Republics insisted on the opposite, since they have solid proof of violations, and a case of blocking of the work by Kiev. The meeting had no results, since the Ukrainian side haven’t fulfill their earlier obligations. The working group will return to the discussion at the next meeting.
