Massive shelling on the eve of a truce

The settlement of Maryevka was hit with another massive shelling from the Ukrainian troops on the eve of the so-called «spring» truce. As a result of large-caliber artillery fire — the shell fragments damaged high-voltage power lines, connecting the power substations «Mikhailovskaya» and «Cherkasskaya»

The south of the Republic is one of the most dangerous regions. A resident of the village of Sakhanka of the Novoazovskiy district, in the south of the DPR, died during a daytime shelling, performed by the Ukrainian troops. This was reported by the representation of the Republic in the Joint Center for the Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire Regime. The Joint Center added that the gas pipeline and the residential buildings Number 18 and 20, on the Constitution Street, were damaged, as well as the local canteen near the kindergarten.

An officer of the people’s militia of the DPR, call-sign (гюрза) «Gyurza», said that the situation in the north of Gorlovka changed after the national battalions returned to the frontline from Ukraine. The Battalion «Azov» immediately shelled Gorlovka. The DPR serviceman predicts an increase in the number of provocations, performed before the presidential elections in Ukraine.

A former civil servant of the LPR, Alexander Belousov, was recruited by the officers of the Security Service of Ukraine during the intersection of the “Luganskaya Village” control point. He went on the Ukrainian territory for the retirement matters, but instead he was detained by the Security Service of Ukraine that wanted to recruit him. After interrogation and numerous threats, the officers of the Security Service of Ukraine forced Alexander Belousov to sign an agreement of non-official cooperation with them. He was given a call-sign «Dinya», and tasked to collect and transmit the data on the officials in his workplace to the Security Service of Ukraine. Alexander Belousov reported the illegal actions, done by the Security Service of Ukraine, to the Ministry of the State Security of the LPR. Since he made a prompt and willing confession, which helped to prevent further damage to the interests of the LPR, he was released from the criminal liability.

Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko uses the nationalist groups to carry out provocations and escalate the on-going situation on the ‘contact line’ in order to increase his rating for the upcoming elections. This was stated by the Head of the People’s Militia of the LPR — Colonel Mikhail Filiponenko.
