Negotiations on Libya in Moscow

1 Russia

The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed that the head of the Libyan Government of the National Consent, Faiz Saraj, and the commander of the Libyan National Army, Khalifa Haftar, will take part in negotiations in Moscow on Monday, with the support of the Russian and Turkish ministries of defense. It is also expected that additional negotiations will be held between the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, the Russian Minister of Defense Sergei Shoigu, and their Turkish counterparts — Mevlut Cavusoglu and Hulusi Akar. The main topics of the meetings will be the settlement in Libya, the cooperation on Syria, and the situation in the Middle East during the current escalation of the Iranian situation.

2 Abkhazia

“After the announcement of the resignation of President Raul Khajimba, the Abkhazian government is operating as usual” — the chairman of the Abkhazian government, Valery Bganba, told to the TASS. Raul Khadjimba will not run for the re-election of the President of Abkhazia on 22nd of March. However, he will «participate in the political process, just so the country has some order and legality, and for the sake of continuity» — Khajimba himself explained.

3 Abkhazia

Following the ex-president of Abkhazia, Raul Khajimba, the vice-president of Abkhazia, Aslan Bartsits, also submitted his resignation. This was stated on the official website of Raul Khajimba. The parliament of Abkhazia, during an extraordinary meeting on Monday, adopted a statement on the resignation of Raul Khajimba. 32 out of 34 present deputies voted ‘for’ the resignation. The Prime Minister of the country, Valery Bganba, was appointed by the Parliament as the Acting President of the Republic.

4 Syria

The Russian Center for the Reconciliation of the warring parties in Syria announced the opening of 3 checkpoints in Syria — they were built for the civilians to leave the terrorist-controlled areas of the Idlib DMZ. The checkpoints began to operate on Monday, on 13:00 by Moscow time. «The checkpoint Abu al-Duhour is located in the province of Idlib. The checkpoint El Hader is in the province of Aleppo. The checkpoint Habit is in the province of Hama» — the Center specified.
