The Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced that Russia is ready to end the relations with the EU if new sanctions are introduced.

“We state what we can do. If we see it again, as we have already seen it more than once how sanctions are being imposed in some areas, which create risks for our economy, including the most sensitive areas — then yes, it will happen» — Sergey Lavrov answered the question about a possible break of Russia with the EU.

He specified that Russia does not want an isolation «from the world life», but the country must be ready for such an event.

While commenting on this statement, the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov, clarified that the meaning of Sergei Lavrov’s words was that Russia, for its part, does not want any termination of relations.
