Russia recognized the independence of the DPR and the LPR

1 Russia

An event that has been awaited for 8 years. Vladimir Putin signed a decree recognizing the independence of the LPR and the DPR. Their leaders put their own signatures inside the Kremlin. Vladimir Putin explained the logic of this decision in details. He mentioned the history and the current state of affairs in Ukraine. Russia faces certain threats, given that Ukraine is under an external control, and it is being used, in a military point of view, by the USA and the NATO.

2 Russia

The Russian Federal Council and the Russian Parliament ratified the treaties with the Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics on the friendship, cooperation, and mutual assistance. The heads of the DPR and LPR — Denis Pushilin and Leonid Pasechnik — signed the relevant laws as well. Earlier this decision was unanimously supported by the parliaments of the republics. There were emergency meetings in the morning. The deputies of DPR and the LPR approved the aforementioned agreements.

3 Russia

Vladimir Putin discussed with the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, the situation in Ukraine. Putin explained that the territory of Ukraine is being used by the third countries to create threats against Russia. He noted that the level of relations between Moscow and Kiev went down precisely after the coup in Ukraine. The presidents discussed the Western statements, made after the recognition of the independence of the DPR and the LPR.

4 Donbass

The Ukrainian troops continue the shelling of the DPR and the LPR. They use heavy weapons, prohibited by the Minsk agreements. The LPR and the DPR forces are striking back. The Ukrainian saboteurs blew up an IED on the «Donetsk — Gorlovka» highway. 3 civilians were killed — the deputy head of the People’s Militia of the DPR, Eduard Basurin, reported. It is assumed that the target of the Ukrainian servicemen was a military vehicle with one of the commanders of the People’s Militia. The head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, ordered to investigate the sabotage on the «Donetsk-Gorlovka» highway. Over the past day, the Ukrainian troops shelled the territory of the LPR 65 times. The city of Donetsk came under fire from MLRS «Grad» — the Joint Control and Coordination Center reported.

5 Germany

The German government is stopping the certification of the «Nord Stream 2» project right after the recognition of the LPR and the DPR by Russia — the German chancellor, Olaf Scholz, stated at a joint press conference with the Irish Prime Minister, Michal Martin.

6 Ukraine

The Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky stated that he is considering to cut the diplomatic relations with Russia after the recognition of the independence of the LPR and the DPR by Russia. Such proposal was sent to him by the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He added that the Ukrainian authorities qualify the recent Russian actions as a violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
