The Russian Minister of Defense, Sergei Shoigu, stated that Russia will supply Tajikistan with weapons, equipment, and ammo — free of charge.

«The matter of a joint work, aimed to neutralize the threats from the territory of Afghanistan, a country neighboring Tajikistan, became an important task. The hasty pulling of the foreign troops from Afghanistan caused a rapid degradation of the situation, and an escalation of the terrorist activity’’ — Sergei Shoigu stated on the negotiations in Dushanbe.

He announced joint exercises, both on a mutual basis, and within the framework of the CSTO. Sergei Shoigu stated that «Moscow will equip the Tajik army with weapons and equipment, free of charge.»

We continue to train qualified Tajik military personnel. We train them at our military universities and at the 201st Russian military base. We provide everything they need for the combat training. The enhancement of the the combat potential of our base takes a high priority to us, as well as the clarifying plans for the joint repelling of the possible infiltrations of the terrorists” — Sergei Shoigu stated.

Due to the pulling of the US-led international coalition troops from Afghanistan, the ’Taliban’ are launching attacks in most of the Afghan provinces.

A large number of Afghan provincial centers were captured by the Taliban. They managed to cut off the main transport lines. The government troops of the Afghan National Army suffered significant losses in personnel and equipment.
