1 Armenia — Azerbaijan

The spokeswoman for the Armenian Defense Ministry, Shushan Stepanyan, reported on Facebook that «a special task force unit of the Azerbaijani forces launched an attack on the Armenian positions». The attack on a guard-post of the Armenian army took place on Wednesday night. It was reported that the Armenian soldiers repelled the attack, and the Azerbaijani special forces suffered losses. The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry denied this information from Armenia by calling it «an another disinformation». «There is calm on our section of the state border. We have no losses. However, there is some panic among the Armenian military personnel on the other side of the border. Earlier we heard shots from small arms at the positions of the Armenian troops» — said the head of the press service of the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry — Vagif Dargahli.

2 Russia — Nagorno-Karabakh

The Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia, Alexander Grushko, said during an interview to the news agency ‘TASS’ that the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is in the interests of all states in the region that participate in the negotiation process. “We believe that not only Russia, but also the other states that are concerned about the establishment and enhancement of the stability in this region should make statements that encourage the parties to establish peace, to cease their fire, and to withdraw their troops” — he explained. «The current crisis should not lead to a rollback of the progress that has been achieved as a result of the titanic efforts, mostly done by Russia, in the matter of the establishment of the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict» — Grushko concluded.

3 Libya

Aref Ali Nayed, the ambassador of the Libyan parliament from the eastern Libya to the EU, the UK, the USA and the African Union, announced that the tribes of Libya had asked Egypt to intervene due to the lack of a choice due to the Turkish actions. According to him — Turkey is present in Libya illegally. Turkey hasn’t received a permission from the Lybian parliament, and Turkey has already transported almost 16,000 of terrorists to Libya. Turkey has also established a «total control» over Libya and its resources. The ambassador noted that the tribes of Libya have asked for help in Egypt because they want peace, not war. He underlined that the Government of National Accord and the State Council of Libya took an «arrogant» position, and rejected the «Cairo Initiative», made to resolve the Libyan crisis. According to him — this could lead to a very dangerous situation.

4 Russia — Turkey — Libya

Russia and Turkey made a joint statement after the consultations in Ankara. They stated that Russia and Turkey intend to create a joint working group to resolve the situation in Libya. The text of the statement was posted on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry. The parties confirmed their commitment to the sovereignty, independence, unity, and the territorial integrity of Libya. Both sides underlined the need to fight the terrorists and their groups. Both sides expressed their confidence that the conflict in Libya has no military solution. The conflict can only be resolved via a political process, «led and implemented by the Libyans themselves, with the help of the UN». Inter-departmental consultations on the settlement in Libya were held in Ankara on 21st and 22nd of July.

5 The USA — China

The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman, Wang Wenbin, stated that the US have demanded the closure of the Chinese Consulate General in Houston. «On 21st of July the USA suddenly demanded China to close the Chinese Consulate General in Houston. This one-sided political provocation by the USA seriously violates the international law and the key principles of the international relations, as well as the consular agreement between China and the USA. China strongly condemns this outrageous and unjustified step that damages the relations between China and the USA» — said the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman. According to him — «China calls on the USA to immediately withdraw this decision, otherwise Beijing will take legal and necessary measures.» Earlier, the editor-in-chief of the Chinese newspaper ‘Global Times’, Hu Xijin, announced that «the USA asked China to close the Chinese Consulate General in Houston within 72 hours».
