Shelling in Raqqa. Deployment of the Russian military police
1 Syria
The Deputy head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of the Warring Parties in Syria, Rear-Admiral Vyacheslav Sytnik, announced during a briefing that additional Russian military police forces were deployed to stabilize the situation in the Ain Isa region, in the Raqqa province, at north of Syria. «We have noticed an unstable situation in the Ain Isa area. We call on the parties to stop this escalation». According to him, on Sunday, 21 attacks were recorded in the Idlib DMZ from the positions of the Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist group. 2 of these attacks took place in the Aleppo province, 9 in the Idlib province, 5 in Latakia and 5 in Hama. Vyacheslav Sytnik added that earlier, during negotiations with Turkey, agreements were reached on the deployment of the joint Russian-Syrian posts in the area.
2 Nagorno-Karabakh
The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reported about an attack by an Armenian armed group on the positions of the Azerbaijani army in the Hojavend region, in Karabakh. According to the ministry, as a result of the attack, 1 Azerbaijani serviceman was killed and 1 was wounded. «All 6 members of the illegal Armenian armed group were killed» — the press service added. Armenia has yet to comment on the event.
3 Nagorno-Karabakh
The Defense Ministry of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic called the statements from Babu about an attack on the Azerbaijani positions in Karabakh a fake news. «Yesterday and today, as of now, not a single unit of the Artsakh Defense Army, not a single serviceman, took any part in any operations. Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan reported about an attack by an Armenian armed group on the positions of the Azerbaijani army in the Hojavend region, in Karabakh. 4 Armenia
The opposition protests continue at the parliament building in Yerevan. The protesters demand the resignation of the Armenian Prime Minister, Nikol Pashinyan, due to the fact that he signed a ceasefire agreement in Karabakh. The opposition that demands the resignation of the head of the Cabinet have nominated the former head of the government, Vazgen Manukyan, on the post of prime minister. Additional police forces were deployed near parliament. The police blocked the entrance to the building.
5 Armenia
During a protest action by the opposition in front of the parliament building in Yerevan, and the following clashes between the protesters and the police, 8 people were detained. An extraordinary meeting is taking place in the National Assembly. A clash broke out between the protesters, demanding the resignation of the Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, and one of the deputies of the ruling political party «My Step» — Sisak Gabrielyan. The police pushed the protesters away from the parliament building, and made arrests. The protesters left the area near the parliament building and went to the main square of Yerevan, where they joined an another protest group. The situation at the site of the protest is calm.
6 Russia — the Central African Republic
«In November, Russia supplied the Central African Republic with a batch of armored scout and patrol vehicles BRDM-2» — said the Russian Deputy Defense Minister, Alexander Fomin. According to him — the armored vehicles were supplied to the CAR authorities «for a use in the security sector reform». Last week, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported that Russia sent an additional 300 military instructors to the CAR to train their national army personnel.
