Strike on Aleppo // Death of civilians

The ’SANA’ news agency reported that the Syrian air defenses repelled an attack of the Israeli air force at the south of the country. The attack came from Lebanon and the occupied Golan Heights. As a result of the missile strike on the outskirts of Damascus, at least 4 Syrian soldiers were injured. The Syrian air defenses managed to shoot down most of the incoming missiles, but a number of facilities were damaged.

The Russian Center for the Reconciliation of the Warring Parties in Syria reported that as a result of the artillery strikes on 7th of April from the areas, controlled by the Turkish forces, on the settlements in the Tell Rifat district, in the Aleppo province — 5 civilians were killed. 6 people, including 2 children, were injured. The ’SANA’ news agency reported while citing the local sources that the Turkish troops and their allied Syrian opposition groups attacked the outskirts of the cities of Tell Rifat and Afrin, located in the Aleppo province, in north of Syria. About 200 rockets and artillery shells were fired at the districts where several villages are located.

The DPR office at the Joint Center for the Control and Coordination of the Ceasefire reported that the Ukrainian troops fired from mortars at the village near the Abakumov mine, to the west from Donetsk. “The shelling took place from the Kiev-controlled village of Nevelskoye. Four 82mm shells were fired at the village. During the shelling, a grenade launcher was used as well» — the ’Donetsk news agency’ quoted the report. The Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov stated that Berlin and Paris must calm down the Ukrainian authorities due to the escalation in Donbass. Previously, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Sergei Ryabkov, stated that some contacts with the US administration on the situation in Donbass took place. He noted that there is a provocative rhetoric from the western patrons of Kiev, mostly the USA, regarding the situation in the eastern Ukraine. «Washington should be concerned about the consequences of this policy» — the ’TASS’ news agency quoted Ryabkov.

The Russian Defense Ministry reported that a telephone conversation took place between the Russian Defense Minister, Sergei Shoigu, and the Armenian Defense Minister, Vagharshak Harutyunyan. It was reported that the heads of the defense ministries discussed the situation related to the settlement in Nagorno-Karabakh, and other issues of mutual interest. The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, stated during a meeting with the Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow that the presence of the Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh is becoming a major factor in the stability and security in the region.

The ’Xinhua’ reported while citing their sources that a Taliban attack on a military camp in the Takhar province killed 6 Afghan security personnel. The security forces managed to kill 8 terrorists. The attack took place on Wednesday night. The ’Tolo News’ reported about an explosion in the city of Jalalabad, in the eastern Afghanistan. It was reported that 2 people were killed, 6 were injured. A policeman was among the victims. No other details were reported.
