Summary events of Novorossiya, February 9, 2017

The Chief military prosecutor’s office of the DPR initiated a criminal case on the fact of the death of Mikhail Tolstykh, the Commander of the battalion “Somaly”, the сallsign Givi. It was a terroristic attack. The investigation agencies of the DPR have got the trail of killers. They have reasons to suppose that it was made by Ukrainian security services.
The situation in the DPR remains tense. The Ukrainian Armed Forces shelled the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic 700 times for the last 24 hours. They used mortars, grenade launchers, infantry fighting vehicles, antiaircraft guns and heavy artillery. Ukrainian fighters opened fire at the village Zaytsevo, suburbs of Donetsk and Yasinovataya, southern villages of the Republic. 3 soldiers of the DPR were killed and 1 wounded, the Deputy Commander of the operational command of the DPR Eduard Basurin reported today.
8 Ukrainian multiple launch rocket systems “Grad” and 6 multiple launch rocket systems “Uragan” are located in the village Prokhorovka near Volnovakha, Basurin reported.
Ukrainian tanks, self-propelled guns, infantry fighting vehicles, armored personnel carriers and multiple launch rocket systems “Grad”, “Uragan” are moving from the Kharkov district towards the localities Avdeevka and Mironovsky, the official representative of the LPR People’s Militia Andrey Marochko reported today.
Kiev fighters shelled the positions of the LPR People’s Militia 7 times; it has been reported by the Ministry of Defense. They opened fire at the villages Kalinovo, Molodezhnoe, Zheltoe, Zhelobok and Kalinovka. They used mortars, grenade launchers, infantry fighting vehicles, antiaircraft guns and small arms.
