Syria demands immediate withdrawal of Turkish troops

1 The USA

The 5 permanent members of the UN Security Council agreed on a common line regarding the Taliban. The foreign ministers of the UK, the USA, France, Russia and China told the Taliban to form a government that “represents all parts of the population” — the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres reported. All 5 world powers want «a peaceful and stable Afghanistan in which humanitarian aid can be distributed without problems and discrimination». They hope to see “Afghanistan that respects the rights of women and girls, Afghanistan that isn’t a haven for the terrorism” — Guterres explained. The meeting of the ministers on Afghanistan at the UN General Assemblies in New York was initiated by the British Foreign Minister. The American representative noted that the meeting was constructive, with many coincidences in the positions.

2 Syria — Turkey

In August, the UN special envoy for Syria, Geir Pedersen, noted a significant escalation of the situation, and a possible new escalation of the conflict in a number of regions of Syria, mostly in the province of Idlib, occupied by the pro-Turkish Islamist groups. According to him — such intense clashes haven’t been observed in that area since the spring of 2020.

3 Russia

Since yesterday an operation has been under way in the Khabarovsk Territory to find a crashed An-26 aircraft, which was doing a technical flight, and disappeared from the radars at about 11:45 AM in the area of the Bolshekhekhtsirsky nature reserve, 37 km from Khabarovsk. Today, 13 km from the village of Korfovsky, on the Khrebtovaya Mountain, at an altitude of about 600 m, a search team found burnt pieces of the An-26. Groups of rescuers and teams on ATVs moved towards the crash site. There were 6 people on board. The rescuers stated the death of all crew members. The investigation team is investigating the cause of the disaster. Before the flight, the airplane was properly checked. The takeoff was carried out in a normal way, the crew didn’t report any malfunctions.

4 Donbass
