Syria. Turkish military cut off water in Hasakah

1 Syria

The Syrian Foreign Ministry reported that the Turkish military left more than a million residents of the city of Hasakah without drinking water. The ministry condemned the Turkish actions. «The Turkish occupation forces and their mercenaries cut off the water supply of the city itself and the surrounding areas, for 16 days. They stopped the water station in Alluk, north of the city of Hasakah» — the ’SANA’ news agency quoted the report. The Syrian Foreign Ministry drew the attention of the UN Security Council and the International Committee of the Red Cross to the «criminal actions of Turkey, which creates unbearable conditions for the life of Syrian citizens in the north-east of the country’’. The ministry demanded to «put an end to this inhuman practice against the innocent civilians».

2 The USA — Afghanistan

The commander of the US and NATO forces in Afghanistan, Lieutenant-General Scott Miller, announced that the USA have started the preparations for the evacuation of the US military bases in Afghanistan — the Afghan mass-media reported. It was noted that the American forces «will hand over all their military bases to the Afghan army». Scott Miller warned that if the ’Taliban’ attack the US military, or any other coalition forces, the response will be sharp. Within the next 2 weeks, the US military plans to transfer 3 bases to Afghanistan, as well as a military airport in Kandahar province.

3 Armenia

The Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan resigned on Sunday to hold early parliamentary elections in the country — he reported on Facebook. It was noted that Nikol Pashinyan will fully perform the duties of Prime Minister until the early elections. The President of Armenia, Armen Sargsyan, accepted the technical resignation of the government.

4 Iraq

An Iraqi Interior Ministry spokesman reported that 82 people were lost in a fire in a Baghdad hospital. Another 110 were injured. The local mass media reported that 90 people died. The fire took place on Saturday evening, in a hospital in south-east of Baghdad. The cause of fire was an explosion of an oxygen tank. According to the Iraqi Interior Ministry, the fire spread in 3 minutes. On Sunday, the Iraqi Prime Minister, Mustafa al-Kazimi, dismissed the Iraqi health minister, and the mayor of Baghdad.

5 Israel

Israel has completely closed the fishing area for the Palestinian sailors off the coast of the Gaza Strip in response to the missiles, launched at Israel — the radio station ’Kan’ reported. On Saturday night, the radicals from the Gaza Strip fired 36 missiles at Israel. The ’Iron Dome’ air defense system intercepted 6 missiles. The rest exploded in the uninhabited areas.

6 The Czech Republic

The President of the Czech Republic, Milos Zeman, stated that the Czech authorities are considering 2 main versions of the explosions at the military warehouses in 2014. The first is the careless handling of the ammo. The second is the involvement of the «agents of foreign special services». No facts were given to confirm the involvement of the Russian special services. Milos Zeman noted that there is some evidence of a Bulgarian trace. The German Foreign Minister, Heiko Maas, stated that Germany is against such confrontational rhetoric.
