1 Syria

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that over the past day, the Russian representatives in the commission on the facts of violations of the ceasefire in Syria recorded 3 violations. 2 violations were recorded in the Idlib province. 1 violation took place in the Aleppo province. The Center for the Reconciliation of the Warring Parties and the Control of the Refugees’ Movement conducted 1 humanitarian action in the province of Deir ez-Zor.

2 Iraq

The ‘Shafaq news’ website reported while citing a statement from the Iraqi Armed Forces Joint Operations Command that an ISIS terrorist attack took place on the west of Baghdad — it killed a brigade commander of the Iraqi 7th Infantry Division, and an army officer. The terrorists attacked an army checkpoint from the desert near the city of Hit, in the western province of Anbar. The Iraqi Armed Forces high command reported that the Brigadier General Ahmed Abdel Wahid al-Lyami died «while pursuing a group of terrorists». An Iraqi army lieutenant was killed during a terrorist attack, organized by the radicals. Two servicemen were injured as well. Sources of the ‘Shafaq news’ among the security forces reported that in addition to the general — that sortie claimed the lives of 3 army officers. Earlier, the ISIS ambushed Iraqi border guards on the border with Saudi Arabia. As a result — 1 of them died, 4 were injured.

3 Iran

The Iranian President, Hassan Rouhani, called the actions of the US Air Force against the Iranian passenger plane as «an air terrorism». Hassan Rouhani called on the International Civil Aviation Organization and the UN Security Council to counter this «air terrorism». He stated that the countries of the Middle East shouldn’t be silent either. Earlier the Iranian Civil Aviation Organization reported that Iran officially announced their protest to the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization, and Iran demanded an immediate investigation of the situation. On 23rd of July some American F-15s approached an Iranian ‘Mahan Air’ passenger airplane above Syria. The airplane headed from Tehran to Beirut. Several passengers and crew members were injured as a result of an air maneuver, which the pilot made to, as Iran explained, avoid a collision.

4 Turkey

The Turkish national defense minister, Hulusi Akar, stated that Ankara is ready to «address the American concerns» about the incompatibility of the American fifth-generation fighters F-35, and the Russian AA missile systems S-400. «I would like to underline that Turkey is not a client in the F-35 production program, but a partner. We are ready to technically eliminate the US concerns about the incompatibility of the S-400s and F-35s» — Hulusi Akar stated in a video, published by the Turkish Ministry of Defense on Twitter. Earlier, the US Department of Defense reported that the US Air Force decided to buy 8 F-35 fifth-generation fighters from the American corporation ‘Lockheed Martin’, for $862 millions of dollars, that were initially intended for Turkey.

5 Afghanistan

The Afghan TV channel ‘1TV’ reported that the Taliban have announced a ceasefire in Afghanistan during the Muslim Feast of the Sacrifice, the so-called Eid al-Adha, which is being celebrated during this year from 30th of July till 3rd of August. The Afghan President’s spokesman, Sedik Seddiki, announced that the Afghan government has welcomed the declared ceasefire — the ‘TOLOnews’ quoted his words. «The Afghan President has ordered the government forces to observe a 3-day ceasefire» — the spokesman explained. He added that the Afghan president ordered the army to «avoid any military operations against the Taliban until they violate the ceasefire».ф
