Terrorist provocations in Idlib

The deputy head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of the Warring Parties in Syria, Rear-Admiral Alexander Grinkevich, reported about a preparation of provocations, with the use of poisonous substances, in the south of the Idlib DMZ, by the terrorists from the ‘Hayat Tahrir al-Sham’ group. “According to our information — the activists of the pseudo-human rights organization ‘White Helmets’ are taking part in the preparation of the planned chemical provocations, including the staged video filming” — Grinkevich added. According to him — the terrorists are planning to fake those attacks in the coming days in the settlements of Erich and Besames, in order to «accuse the Syrian government forces of using chemical weapons against the civilians».

The strategic command and staff exercises »Caucasus 2020» have begun in Russia. The exercises are the final operational training of the Russian forces for the current year. The exercises will be held from 21st to 26th of September, on the territory of the Southern Military District, as well as on the Black and Caspian Seas. The exercises are headed by the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Forces — army general Valery Gerasimov. The Russian Defense Ministry reported that 80,000 servicemen are involved in the exercises, including the staff from the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the National Guard. The militaries of Armenia, Belarus, China, Myanmar and Pakistan will take part in the exercises as well. The number of the foreign troops won’t exceed 1,000 servicemen. The representatives from Azerbaijan, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Sri Lanka will attend as observers.

The press service of the Western Military District of Russia reported that an SU-30 fighter jet crashed during a training flight in the Tver region. «The pilots ejected safely. They made a radio report after the landing» — the report stated. The pilots were evacuated back to their airbase. The press service noted that «the fighter jet crashed in a wooded area. «The inauguration ceremony of the President of Belarus took place in Minsk, at the Palace of Independence» — the »BelTA» news agency reported. The ceremony was attended by several hundred people, such as the senior officials of the country, parliamentarians, the heads of state bodies, the local authorities, scientists, the representatives from the mass media, culture and sports workers. Alexander Lukashenko announced that he is taking office as the president with pride for the Belarusians who have passed the test of their convictions. He added that the «color revolution» in Belarus has failed. “A challenge was thrown at our statehood. The challenge that destroys independent states via techniques that were tested and used over and over. We were among very few, perhaps the only ones, who defeated the ‘color revolution’. It was the choice of Belarusians who do not want to lose their country» — Alexander Lukashenko explained. The »BelTA» news agency reported that after the inauguration ceremony, the servicemen of Belarus took an oath of loyalty to the people and to the president of the country.

The ‘Al Mayadeen’ TV reported that on Thursday the Palestinian movement ‘Fatah’ and the Islamist organization ‘Hamas’ reached an agreement to hold general elections in the West Bank and in the Gaza Strip over the next 6 months. On 15th of September the ‘Fatah’ leader Mahmoud Abbas and the head of the ‘Hamas’ political bureau, Ismail Haniya, announced «an end to the split between ‘Fatah’ and ‘Hamas’, and the rebuilding of the Palestinian home». The politicians were pleased with the outcome of the conference of the leaders of the Palestinian resistance movement, which took place in Beirut on 3rd and 4th of September. They underlined the importance of the creation of a unified national leadership, and the enhancement of the role of the Palestine Liberation Organization

The head of the Libyan Government of National Accord, Faiz Sarraj, stated during a speech at the general political debate of the 75th session of the UN General Assembly that the parties of the Lybian conflict won’t be able to achieve a long and lasting ceasefire without the withdrawal of the foreign mercenaries from Libya. He explained that the government of the national accord remains committed to the peaceful solutions of the conflict, and it sees the constructive dialogue as the only way out of the current crisis. Faiz Sarraj noted that the government of national accord expects a cooperation from the government in the east of the country. «However, so far we see no cooperation.
